The trailer for The Odyssey has been released in cinemas, playing prior to James Gunn’s Superman. Since the news broke about the Christopher Nolan movie, fans have eagerly awaited this Grandwork.
Earlier, a sneak peek of the movie surfaced online, offering fans an initial glimpse of Tom Holland portraying Telemachus, the offspring of Odysseus.
In regards to the trailer accompanying all versions of Superman, it’s been disclosed that the creators intended for the teaser to be connected to Jurassic World Rebirth. Unfortunately, due to censorship concerns, the team decided to play the teaser before the David Corenswet film instead.
What to expect from Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey?
In about a year, we’re yet to experience the premiere of The Odyssey. After his Academy Award win with Oppenheimer, Christopher Nolan will be back as director, and the audience can look forward to Matt Damon taking center stage.
In the leaked teaser, the creators unveiled a sneak peek of Tom Holland playing Telemachus for the first time. Additionally, a hint of Jon Bernthal’s character was shown, but his character’s identity remains undisclosed as of now.
In the preview, the son of King Odysseus inquires from Bernthal, “Who knows a tale about Odysseus?” To which Bernthal responds, “Is it you who has a story? Some believe he is wealthy, some claim he is destitute. Some say he’s deceased, others insist he’s captive.
Furthermore, a voice can be heard over, with the narrator saying, “It was dark. Zeus’ rule crumbled. Since my lord passed away, I am now rulerless. He realized the battle was unwinnable. Yet, amazingly, he emerged victorious.
Meanwhile, the first poster of Nolan’s upcoming movie was also released online last month.
In our adaptation, The Odyssey revolves around a tale penned by Homer, chronicling the journey of King Odysseus of Ithaca as he makes his way back to his beloved wife, Penelope, following the end of the Trojan War.
Apart from Holland, Bernthal, and Damon, the ensemble also features Anne Hathaway, Zendaya, Lupita Nyong’o, Robert Pattinson, Charlize Theron, and Mia Goth.
The Odyssey is scheduled to hit theaters on July 17, 2026.
