Did Chris Hemsworth’s Kids Interrupt His Transformers One Recording? Actor Reveals

As a dedicated follower and admirer of Chris Hemsworth, I must say that his dedication to his craft and family is nothing short of inspiring. In this world where work often takes precedence over personal life, it’s refreshing to see an A-lister like Hemsworth who seamlessly balances both.

Only Thor, also known as Optimus Prime and Chris Hemsworth, can be interrupted by his own children. During the promotion of Transformers One where Hemsworth portrays Optimus Prime, director Josh Cooley shared a behind-the-scenes look at their enjoyable remote recording sessions, attributing it to the interference from Hemsworth’s kids, much like how Imperator Furiosa from Mad Max causes disturbance.

During the New York debut of the movie, Cooley shared with PEOPLE that every one of Hemsworth’s recordings were made at his personal residence, necessitating a trip to Sydney. Despite this long journey, it proved to be a valuable experience. However, Hemsworth’s well-known children often disrupted their recording sessions. Yet, being an excellent father, Hemsworth would pause his work to address them.

The director reminisced that his children would occasionally dash into the room, prompting their father to say something like, “Give me a moment, I need to prepare lunch for him.” It was very laid-back and relaxed, and he’s an exceptional, wonderful individual,” he concluded.

As an ardent admirer, let me share that the dashing star from Thor: Love and Thunder, who happens to be my favorite, has a delightful brood of three little ones. These include his twin boys Sasha and Tristan, as well as their sister India Rose. His lovely wife, model Elsa Pataky, is their proud mother. Interestingly, our hero recently graced the Australian premiere of Transformers One along with his family, minus daughter India Rose. This highly anticipated animation flick serves as a prequel to the already popular Transformers series.

The story reveals how Optimus Prime, voiced by Hemsworth, and Megatron, played by Brian Tyree Henry, initially bonded as comrades, only to eventually become sworn enemies. At this year’s Comic-Con, Hemsworth disclosed that he sought advice from his children before accepting the role of Optimus. He shared with PEOPLE, “I asked my kids if they thought I should do it, and they said I had to.” Throughout the recording process, Hemsworth explained that his kids were in the background, offering suggestions or trying to distract him while he recorded lines.

As a die-hard enthusiast, I can’t help but share my excitement over the rumors swirling about a potential G.I. Joe crossover! Recently, while gracing Entertainment Weekly’s Comic-Con Studio, I was inquired about my future role in this epic collaboration. With a hint of anticipation in my voice, I admitted that, at present, the details remain elusive to me. But let’s keep our fingers crossed and hope for some exciting updates soon!

Transformer One is set to hit the theaters on September 20.
