Did Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni Have ‘Genuine Affection’ on IEWU Set? Intimacy Coordinator Shares Insight

Trigger warning: This article contains mentions of sexual assault.

According to reports, during the filming of their movie “It Ends With Us,” Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni appeared to have a deep, authentic connection, which has been noted in light of their current legal dispute. Mia Schachter, an intimacy coordinator not involved with the production, observed their relationship dynamic from afar.

In an interview broadcasted in the UK on March 17th (as reported by Us Weekly), she expressed that from reading their text messages, it appeared there was once a genuine bond between them, something that seemed like a close friendship.

In a private conversation, text messages between two actors who previously worked together suggested a flirtatious tone. Schachter’s analysis followed the intensifying court dispute between Lively and Baldoni. The actress accused her director and co-star of sexual misconduct in a lawsuit submitted in December 2024.

It’s been asserted that during filming of Five Feet Apart, the director deviated from the script by improvising kissing scenes and attempting to include additional intimate moments. Furthermore, it was alleged that there wasn’t an intimacy coordinator on set. Contrarily, Baldoni has refuted these claims in his counter-suit and presented a text conversation suggesting that Lively declined to meet with the intimacy coordinator prior to filming.

Schachter shared that in her observations, if an actor chooses not to consult with an intimacy coordinator prior to shooting, it frequently suggests they have faith in their scene partner. She further commented, hinting that at some point, she believed he had earned a great deal of trust from her.

She went on to examine uncensored clips featuring the actors from The It Ends With Us movie, dancing slowly together, and offered an explanation for Blake Lively’s actions. According to Schachter’s analysis, Lively was proposing non-kissing alternatives to her co-star during the dance.

In the video, the main actor from A Simple Favor guided Baldoni on where to position his hands for the scene. Schachter explained that the actress’s behavior was a thoughtful method of indicating to Baldoni to halt his attempt at kissing her.

Representatives for both Lively and Baldoni have yet to respond to this development.
