At the premiere of “Another Simple Favor” in Texas during SXSW, Anna Kendrick seemed to subtly criticize her co-star Blake Lively without directly saying so. When asked if they would work together again for the upcoming sequel, Kendrick’s response was somewhat evasive, causing some people to raise their eyebrows.
At the occasion, an Entertainment Tonight correspondent inquired of Kendrick, “Anna, isn’t collaborating with Blake once more significant in some way?” To this, the actress responded cryptically, “Ah, well…”, implying further meaning but allowing the audience to draw their own conclusions.
As for Lively, when asked the same question, she responded positively, expressing her joy by saying that collaborating with Kendrick once more was “simply fantastic” and she was “extremely pleased” about their reunion.
As an ardent admirer, I must admit that Kendrick’s casual response left me perplexed, but the two stunning actresses, Emma Stone and Blake Lively, managed to maintain their professional demeanor flawlessly. They gracefully posed for photographs on the red carpet alongside director Paul Feig and other esteemed cast members. Kendrick was a vision in her alluring black LaQuan Smith ensemble, while Blake chose a classy Renée Masoomian dress that perfectly complemented her style.
Despite seeming friendly at the premiere, the two actresses, Kendrick and Lively, notably kept their distance during the screening. According to someone who was present in the theater, the crowd enthusiastically applauded both stars when Feig acknowledged them before the movie started. Following the conclusion of the film, Kendrick and Lively were seen standing together on stage with the rest of the cast for a question-and-answer session. During this event, Lively emphasized that it was “wonderful” to collaborate with Kendrick and the team once more.
At the moment, Kendrick’s comments are being made as Lively is involved in a significant legal dispute with director Justin Baldoni from It Ends With Us. Lively has alleged that Baldoni sexually harassed her and claims he and his team planned a negative campaign against her. In response, Baldoni has refuted all accusations and filed a defamation lawsuit worth $400 million against Lively, her spouse Ryan Reynolds, and her representative Leslie Sloane. The trial is scheduled for March 2026.
