Dexter Sol Ansell Gifted Cast and Crew Custom Dunk and Egg LEGO Minifig Sets

I was already a big fan of Dexter Sol Ansell before A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms even came out on HBO. Seriously, how could you not be impressed when you heard he shaved his head to play Ser Duncan the Tall’s little squire? His work as Egg just made me admire him even more. But it turns out there’s even more to love about this guy! I just found out he gave the entire cast and crew of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms custom LEGO minifigures – little figures made to look like them, celebrating the whole experience of bringing Dunk and Egg to life. What a thoughtful gift!

Sol Ansell posted on Instagram showing the gifts he gave to key people on set, including his co-star Peter Claffey, showrunner Ira Parker, directors Owen Harris and Sarah Adina Smith, and the creator of the series, author George R.R. Martin.

I’m so excited about these new collectible sets! Each one shows Dunk and Egg together with either Dunk’s horse, Thunder, or Sweetfoot. What’s really cool is that each set also includes a little figure of the person who’s receiving the gift, and a special, personalized message. I heard Parker’s gift is especially funny – it references this story Sol Ansell told during his very first audition about a “pickle”!

The pickle story worked. Now it’s memorized in an amazing plaque.

It was amazing that people could create their own LEGO mini-figures, but we’d happily spend a lot of money on the set featuring George R.R. Martin. Seriously, that tiny plastic figure of him is fantastic! Since Little Gems Online created these, they could easily charge a premium price – we’d probably pay a fortune for them if they were available.

We also happily accept gifts! And if you give us one, we promise to love you as much as we love our cats, Egg and Dexter Sol Ansell.
