DEXTER: ORIGINAL Sin First Teaser Trailer Says It Takes a Village to Make a Serial Killer

As a gamer who’s spent countless hours immersed in the dark and twisted world of Dexter, I can’t help but feel a mix of excitement and trepidation at the prospect of Dexter: Original Sin. The ’90s setting promises a fresh take on an old favorite, and seeing Patrick Gibson step into Dexter’s blood-splattered boots is both intriguing and nerve-wracking.

The Dexter revival carries on, with the infamous serial killer’s comeback in the Paramount+ and SHOWTIME series titled “Dexter: Original Sin“. This new installment will transport us back to the ’90s, offering additional insights into his origin. Patrick Gibson plays Dexter, while Christian Slater (one of my favorites) steps into the role of Harry Morgan, Dexter’s adoptive father and a homicide detective. The Morgan family also includes Molly Brown as Debra Morgan, Dexter’s younger sister. We’ve had sneak peeks for quite some time now, but we finally have our first teaser trailer for “Dexter: Original Sin“.

In this scene, Dexter explains that he wasn’t inherently born a killer, but rather, it was a collective influence that guided him towards his dark destiny. Indeed, Gibson skillfully portrays the essence of Dexter, with Michael C. Hall’s voice adding depth as we listen to his internal musings. Here’s a summary for the new series Dexter: Original Sin to go along with this first teaser trailer:

1991 finds us in Miami with the drama Dexter: Original Sin, where we follow Dexter (Patrick Gibson) as he evolves from student into a vengeful serial killer. Unable to suppress his bloodlust any longer, Dexter embarks on a journey to harness his inner darkness. With the mentorship of his father, Harry (Christian Slater), who is a Golden Globe® winner, he learns a Code that helps him hunt and eliminate individuals who are detrimental to society without drawing attention from law enforcement. This proves especially tricky for Dexter as he embarks on a forensics internship at the Miami Metro Police Department. Joining this cast are Patrick Dempsey, Molly Brown, James Martinez, Christina Milian, Alex Shimizu, Reno Wilson, and guest star Sarah Michelle Gellar. Michael C. Hall reprises his voiceover role in the head of Dexter Morgan, providing the iconic inner monologue.
