Over the past few months, DC Studios has been diligently searching for suitable actors for their forthcoming ventures. A significant portion of their efforts has been dedicated to the development of the Lanterns series, an endeavor designed to reintroduce the Green Lantern Corps on the big screen.
In this upcoming series, popular characters such as Hal Jordan and John Stewart will be showcased, offering a thrilling blend of superhero adventures and detective-like narratives. Just recently, rumors surfaced that Josh Brolin, an accomplished actor famed for his portrayal of Thanos in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Cable in “Deadpool 2”, has been approached to play the role of Hal Jordan by DC Studios.
As a die-hard film fan, I can’t help but acknowledge the impressive resume of Jack Brolin in the superhero realm. He was undeniably a top contender for this role, thanks to his extensive background in this genre. However, after much deliberation, he chose to pass on the offer. In a recent statement, Brolin revealed that negotiations with DC Studios didn’t bear fruit, but it seems that his journey with DC may not be over just yet. According to renowned insider Daniel Richtman, there might still be chapters left in Brolin’s DC career.
After Brolin opted out of the role, DC Studios started exploring other potential actors. It wasn’t until Kyle Chandler, famously known for roles in “Friday Night Lights” and “Bloodline”, was chosen that a fresh dynamic was introduced to the series. Fans are now excited to witness Chandler as the renowned Green Lantern, but what does this mean for Brolin?
Although he won’t play a part in Lanterns, Richmans has shared through Patreon that DC Studios is considering Brolin for another role within the DC Universe. At present, details about the project and the potential character are yet to be confirmed. Given Brolin’s extensive experience and popularity in the genre, he would undoubtedly make a strong fit.
This intriguing rumor suggests once more that DCU is committed to building a cohesive universe. We hope that Brolin and DC can find a project they both enjoy working on together. Rest assured, we’ll continue to monitor this story, so stay tuned for further updates!
