Despite ‘Blade’ Being Delayed, Mahershala Ali Met with Marvel and Is Still Working with Them, Rumor Claims

As a seasoned gamer and long-time Marvel fan, I have seen enough rollercoasters of excitement and disappointment to last a lifetime. The Blade movie has been one such ride, with its ups and downs leaving us all on edge.

We’ve discussed Mahershala Ali‘s upcoming Blade film on multiple occasions. However, it’s hard to say exactly how many times. In our previous posts, we often emphasized that the movie was at a highly unpredictable stage of development and that there was a significant chance it might fall into development limbo, despite all parties involved attempting to reassure us otherwise.

Afterward, it was announced that Blade had been taken off Marvel’s release schedule (originally scheduled for November 2025). Unfortunately, no new release date was provided, suggesting that the film may be stuck in a stage of ongoing development and potential delay.

This news hit the fans very hard, as the thing they feared the most – happened.

Contrary to appearances, things might not be as grim as they seem. A fresh whisper goes that Mahershala Ali held talks with Marvel regarding a movie role. It’s said he accepted the delay and remains content with the project’s advancement, despite it seeming stationary.

It’s been circulating on social platforms that John Rocha, a critic and podcast presenter, is the originator of the rumor regarding Ali and the potential future of ‘Blade’.

As a die-hard fan myself, I’m thrilled to share that it seems Mahershala Ali had a meeting with Marvel Studios regarding ‘Blade’. What makes this even more exciting is that he’s reportedly content with the project’s current trajectory. Plus, he’s taking the delay of the film in stride, which just adds to my anticipation! While no specific evidence has been presented, this source isn’t necessarily unreliable, so it’s plausible that the rumor could be true. However, we don’t have information about what Ali feels about the movie situation since it’s been on hold for quite some time, and it might not be our role to know these details just yet.

It appears that we’ve been getting conflicting information, with some suggesting that Ali might be about to depart from the project entirely. Yet, there could be a secret strategy at play, and we hope that’s the case because it would signify that Marvel is gearing up for a satisfying Blade film release.

As for the fans, here is what they are saying about this piece of news:

So, why did Mahershala Ali’s lawyer make a public statement that the situation with Marvel Studios is the most outrageous thing she’s experienced professionally, given that the deal was finalized in 2019? It seems to contradict what his attorney stated, and it appears more like media sensationalism!

I would love to see a new #Blade movie, yet if they can’t get a great story together then forget it. I don’t want them to ruin it.. Honestly idk how it’s so difficult for them to write a script thats good. I think we will eventually see it made @Kevfeige

It turns out that not having the script ready just yet might prove beneficial in the long run, as there was simply no feasible chance of its completion next year during the development stage.

This man is going to be damn near 55 when they start production of this movie I have a deep feeling he won’t be Blade for long, and I have a question for anyone who’s reading this do you want a Blade who’s in their 50s? They locked him in at 45 years old and we got NOTHING!!

It might have been more beneficial for them to create a Disney Plus Mini Series, as this approach would provide ample time to develop the story, arrange action sequences, and introduce characters effectively. Such a move could potentially eliminate production delays, addressing many of Marvel’s current challenges.
