Denise Richards first became famous as a glamorous model in the 1990s, and at 55, she continues to turn heads with her amazing body. Despite being a mom to three children, she maintains impressively toned abs. While there’s been speculation about cosmetic surgery, Denise has publicly stated she’s only had breast augmentation, adding, “I’ve been very open and honest about that. I’ve had the same nose and lips.”
She’s made significant changes to her diet as part of her fitness journey. After viewers of Real Housewives pointed out her swollen thyroid in 2019, she decided to eliminate gluten from her diet.
Denise recently shared that she’s seen a significant improvement in her thyroid health after removing gluten from her diet. Viewers noticed an enlarged thyroid during the #RHOBH reunion, and she admits she hadn’t realized it until they pointed it out. She’s surprised by how much diet impacts the body and how harmful gluten can be. She expressed gratitude to those who reached out to her with support, calling it an act of #selfcare.

Denise has started eating meat and fish again and prefers to eat smaller meals throughout the day instead of having set breakfast, lunch, and dinner times. She explained to Women’s Health that she often enjoys having lunch or dinner leftovers for breakfast, though she sometimes makes a typical breakfast like an omelette with buffalo mozzarella, tomato, and basil. She snacks on healthy options like fresh vegetables, cheese, and nuts, and likes to cook meals such as roasted chicken with vegetables or artichokes with a balsamic glaze.
Denise stays active through Pilates, dance, and hiking. She told HuffPost that the key to her fitness is being consistent with her routine, because that’s when she feels her best. She also emphasizes the importance of finding what works for your body, since everyone is different.
She shared with Self magazine that staying active is key to her strong core. She emphasized that everyone’s body is unique, but for her, Pilates and dance are most effective. Specifically, she credits the Pilates reformer for helping her regain a flat stomach after having two C-sections, finding it more helpful than other methods.
Denise stays in shape with the help of modern technology, specifically a treatment called Emsculpt Neo. This non-surgical method uses energy to both build muscle and reduce fat. It works by stimulating the abdominal muscles with the equivalent of 20,000 sit-ups in just 30 minutes.
I’m so inspired by Denise Richards! She really shows that getting fit isn’t about quick fixes, it’s about making good food choices, working out regularly, and finding what actually works for you. And honestly, at 55, she’s proof that age is just a number when it comes to feeling confident and strong. It’s really motivating to see!
