Den Of Thieves 2 Star Gerard Butler Recalls Filming 300; ‘It Was Insane’

Gerard Butler has left a lasting impression on audiences through various films such as P.S. I Love You, Olympus Has Fallen, and Den of Thieves (2018). Yet, among all these roles, it is his portrayal in Zack Snyder’s 300 that stands out the most in his memory.

In the latest blockbuster movie, the actor took on the significant part of a monarch. More recently, Gerard Butler provided some intriguing tidbits during an interview with PEOPLE.

In an interview, the actor who played Law Abiding Citizen shared memories from the filming of the mentioned historical action movie, 300. He reminisced about how regularly, someone would need medical attention due to injuries sustained on set each day.

One moment, you find yourself in a struggle, then you notice someone below you, impaled by a spear through his eye. Another instance, you turn and see someone nearby who’s just fallen and fractured his ankle. It was absolutely wild,” Butler said.

In case you’re unfamiliar, Gerard Butler portrayed King Leonidas of Sparta in the 2006 movie “300”. Some other notable actors in this action-packed film were Lena Headey, who played Queen Gorgo, his wife; Rodrigo Santoro as Xerxes; David Wenham as Dilios; and Michael Fassbender as Stelios.

Gerard Butler was recently spotted in the action-packed sequel “Den of Thieves 2: Panthera.” In this film, O’Shea Jackson Jr. plays Donnie Wilson. The movie is directed by Christian Gudegast and continues the story of Big Nick, who embarks on a pursuit across Europe.
