Demi Lovato Confirms Working On New Music But Says She Might Never Tour Again: ‘Takes A Toll On Your Body’

As a dedicated fan who has followed Demi Lovato‘s journey since their days on Barney & Friends, I can’t help but feel a mix of emotions upon learning about their potential retirement from touring. The thought of not witnessing the raw energy and passion that Demi brings to the stage is heart-wrenching. However, it’s also comforting to know that they are prioritizing their health and wellbeing above all else.

Demi Lovato isn’t certain they’ll go on a music tour ever again!

In a recent chat with The Hollywood Reporter as part of promoting their forthcoming documentary titled “Child Star,” Lovato was inquired about the possibility of creating additional music.

In response to being asked about upcoming plans, the versatile artist, who identifies as non-binary and prefers both she/her and they/them pronouns, shared that while they are currently creating new songs in the studio, they remain uncertain if they will embark on a tour to promote their work. Lovato expressed concerns about the physical strain of touring, stating, “I’m not the 15-year-old I used to be anymore.”

31-year-old singer of “Cool for the Summer,” recently concluded a tour in 2022, promoting their eighth studio album titled “Holy Fvck.” (Paraphrased from your sentence)

Previously, Lovato had expressed her desire to stop touring on their August 14th THR profile. Two years prior, during a tour, when she fell ill, Lovato shared on Instagram, “I can’t continue like this anymore. This upcoming tour will be my last. I love and appreciate you all.”

In a different part of the interview, Lovato explained how they had previously found solace in their music and acting careers to compensate for the lack of affection from their father. Sadly, their relationship with their birth father was distant, and he passed away due to cancer in 2013. Now that they’ve overcome that unhealthy coping mechanism, Lovato expresses, “I no longer rely on the industry as heavily as I used to, and I take pride in reaching this point.”

Child Star, which Lovato co-directed with Nicola Marsh, will be released via Hulu on September 17.

The documentary includes conversations with Drew Barrymore, Kenan Thompson, Raven-Symoné, Alyson Stoner, and JoJo Siwa, exploring how childhood fame impacted the lives of these child actors who entered the entertainment industry at a tender age.
