As a seasoned comic book enthusiast who’s been following the X-Men saga for more decades than I care to admit, I must say that the potential romance between Wolverine and Storm is a long-overdue breath of fresh air. The chemistry between Hugh Jackman and Halle Berry has always been palpable, even in their brief interactions on screen. It’s like they were destined to share more than just a few electric moments!
One of the most well-known romantic entanglements in comic books involves Wolverine, Jean Grey, and Cyclops. More specifically, Wolverine finds himself caught up in a love triangle with these two characters. The dynamics between them are frequently portrayed as intricate and stormy due to multiple complicating factors.
From a dedicated fan’s perspective, I find myself drawn to the intricate relationships within the X-Men universe. Specifically, there’s an ongoing saga between Jean Grey, Cyclops, and Wolverine. While Jean and Cyclops share a complex, sometimes tumultuous romance, Jean and Wolverine often engage in playful banter, and at times, their connection deepens to a romantic level, even resulting in offspring.
Although the comics imply a unique, non-traditional romantic involvement between Wolverine and Cyclops that could be considered polyamorous, the live-action depictions have primarily emphasized Wolverine’s longstanding, albeit unreturned affection for Jean Grey, opting for a more conventional and widely accepted narrative.
The X-Men film series generally adhered to this pattern, yet a cut scene from “X-Men: Days of Future Past” suggested a potential change, subtly alluding to a possible romantic connection between Wolverine and Storm.
In light of the developments and exchanges depicted in X2, it seems more fitting from a storytelling perspective to delve into this potential romantic connection between Wolverine and Storm, given that fans have been eagerly anticipating such a relationship for quite some time. The curiosity and discontent among fans regarding why this particular scene was excluded has certainly been expressed.
A more suitable match seems to be between Scott and Jean, as Logan himself acknowledged that Jean never showed interest in him during X2. It would have been great if the creators had hinted at a relationship between Storm and Logan earlier, but I’m still glad we got that scene, even if it ended up being cut from the final version (sigh).

Man, I’ve got to hand it to the writers on that show – they really packed a punch with the chemistry! It’s like watching a whole Wolverine and Jean Grey trilogy compressed into just one scene. And let me tell you, Hugh Jackman and Halle Berry? They were electric together! Can’t stop laughing at how great they were as a pair!
@Tonycillian5
I’m still puzzled as to why they chose to cut that scene out! It would have fit perfectly with the storyline in the film. Ever since the first movie, I’ve been eagerly anticipating the moment when Storm and Wolverine would team up.
@CharCruse20
They have had flings and a on and off relationship in the comics for YEARS

In the forthcoming X-Men reboot, there’s still room for exploring the romantic connection between Wolverine and Storm on the big screen. This could be an exciting departure from the traditional Wolverine-Jean Grey dynamic, given that even the X-Men: The Animated Series of 1997 has relied heavily on this narrative theme.
Since fans were excited about Storm’s romantic development with T’Challa in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but considering Chadwick Boseman’s passing and the studio’s choice not to replace him, it seems that storyline won’t happen. Why not then delve into a romantic storyline between Storm and Wolverine instead?
