Starting from March 31st, the anime version of “Sword of the Demon Hunter: Kijin Gentōshō,” derived from Moto’o Nakanishi’s novel series, will be broadcasted. The finale song is called ‘Sen-ya Ichi-ya feat. Izumi Nakasone (HY)’ by Hilcrhyme. The initial episode, a one-hour special, will air on Tokyo MX at 9:30 p.m. JST, and it will subsequently be shown on BS Fuji on April 1st at midnight JST, followed by MBS on April 1st at 1:30 a.m. JST.
Following its premiere, the series will establish a consistent airtime beginning on April 7th on Tokyo MX and April 8th on MBS and BS Fuji. The anime is scheduled to continue for two uninterrupted seasons.
Initially scheduled for release in July 2024, the anime had to be pushed back because of complications during production. The main character, Jinta, is voiced by Taku Yashiro, while Reina Ueda and Saori Hayami lend their voices to Suzune and Shirayuki respectively.
In this production, Kazuya Aiura takes the helm as director, while Deko Akao assumes control over the series scripts. Taro Ikegami is responsible for character design. The music for the series is being created by Ryuuichi Takada, Keiichi Hirokawa, and Kuniyuki Takahashi from MONACA. In simpler terms, Kazuya Aiura directs the show, Deko Akao writes the scripts, Taro Ikegami designs the characters, and a trio named MONACA composes the music for the series.
In this tale, events unfold during the Edo era, forcing Jinta and his sibling to abandon their residence and find refuge in a secluded mountain hamlet. After many years, Jinta develops into an expert swordswoman, assigned to safeguard a temple’s priestess.
In a scenario where a demon menaces a sacred site, Jinta engages in combat with this ominous being, uncovering that it possesses information about a future incident involving the same fiend. This revelation triggers an extraordinary odyssey for Jinta, one that unfolds across different eras. During his quest, he is compelled to grapple with his inner darkness as he chases after the demon.
Seven Seas Entertainment is set to publish both the original novels and their comic-book version (manga) in the English language. The manga, beautifully illustrated by Yu Satomi, began serialization in 2021 and is scheduled for the release of its eighth volume on March 19.
