Announced Tuesday by Czeth Games Edition, this version of the classic word association game offers a unique cooperative experience. Instead of competing, players work together, guided by a Game Master, to complete challenging missions using themed word clues.

If you haven’t played it before, Codenames is a game where you give one-word clues to help your teammate guess your secret words before the other team does. These words are hidden in a 5×5 grid. Codenames: Critical Role Adventures changes things up – instead of competing against another team, you work together as a group of adventurers. You’ll play through three exciting campaigns, gaining new skills to defeat a powerful enemy. You can choose to play as one of seven characters from Critical Role. It’s like a mix of Codenames and Dungeons & Dragons!

Step into Exandria, a fantastic world filled with heroes, and relive the exciting stories of Critical Role with the game Codenames! Gather a team of characters from the first three campaigns, complete quests, and grow stronger to overcome the ultimate challenge.

Besides the game based on Critical Role, CGE also released an expansion pack called Vox Machina. This pack adds 42 new words, two new items, and allows you to play with the character Keyleth. However, the Vox Machina expansion can’t be used with the original Codenames game.
