Benjamin Franklin famously penned, “Nothing can be said to be certain, except death and taxes.” However, it seems that evading taxes may only prove half of his statement correct. In a more humorous twist, one could imagine Franklin saying, “Nothing can be said to be certain, except death and cinematic depictions of Death meticulously orchestrating gruesome, ridiculous, yet entertaining fatalities.” While it’s unlikely he foresaw motion pictures, the sentiment still rings true! After all, the franchise Final Destination, which began 25 years ago with the Flight 180 disaster, is still thriving. And just as a reminder, the latest installment, Final Destination Bloodlines, has arrived to reinforce this truth: Death’s machinations outlive us and our kinfolk.
As a movie enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that the next chapter in the “Final Destination” saga is upon us with the first trailer for “Final Destination Bloodlines”. This time around, the franchise takes a fresh twist on an old favorite. Instead of an assortment of individuals bound by fate and struggle to survive, the Grim Reaper has marked an entire family as its targets. The question remains: what did they do? They shouldn’t have survived in the first place. Their existence was supposed to end with their grandmother, but she defied the odds and kept their bloodline alive. Here’s a glimpse into the film’s plot from New Line Cinema:
Haunted by a persistent, terrifying dream, university student Stefanie returns home in search of the individual who could potentially end this recurring nightmare and prevent her family from meeting an imminent, gruesome fate.
I love this franchise. I hope they all survive and also that none of them do.
The horror movie titled “Final Destination Bloodlines” is helmed by directors Adam Stein and Zach Lipovsky, who previously worked on “Freaks”, and it features a screenplay from Guy Busick, known for “Ready or Not”. Starring in the film are Kaitlyn Santa Juana (from “The Flash”), Teo Briones (“Chucky”), Richard Harmon (“The Age of Adaline”), Owen Patrick Joyner (“Julie and the Phantoms”), Anna Lore (“Gotham Knights”), Brec Bassinger (known for “Stargirl”), and the esteemed Tony Todd, who sadly passed away.
What Is the Release Date for Final Destination Bloodlines?
On May 16, 2025, the inescapable specter of death will once again grace the silver screen. As Benjamin Franklin wisely observed, “The only thing we can be sure of is that we’ll all be present when death makes its reappearance.
