According to reports, Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman are said to team up once more, this time as co-hosts of the prestigious Academy Awards ceremony, following their successful collaboration in the Marvel blockbusters Deadpool and Wolverine.

It’s been verified that the pair has received an invitation from the event organizers, joining other famous figures such as Dwayne Johnson, Will Ferrell, and Amy Poehler. Noteworthy absentees this year are Kevin Hart and Chris Rock, while Jimmy Kimmel and John Mulaney have declined the offer.

Following their captivating on-screen relationship winning over fans’ affections, proposals have been made to Jackman and Reynolds. Earlier, these two stars had charmed audiences at the Oscars in 2009. According to some insider sources, the Marvel pair have been sending ambiguous messages about whether they will accept the opportunity or not.

According to Deadline’s source, the contact has been made, but it remains uncertain if the main actors are prepared to take part.

They also mentioned, “There’s probably a discussion about Disney and Marvel’s potential Academy Awards strategy for Deadpool and Wolverine. I’ve heard that Reynolds might be nominated in the lead actor category, while Jackman could be considered for supporting roles.

The source concluded by stating that the decision will be announced in the coming weeks. 

Currently, the pair have been spending their birthday month together, and they’ve invited director Shawn Levy to join in the celebration, known for directing Deadpool and Wolverine. He posted pictures from the gathering on his Instagram, where we can see the friends, standing on either side of a floral cake.

Later in the pictures, Levy also joined the scene. The director added a caption too, stating “October is simply the finest month for buddy birthdays🎂 It’s a charming autumn day, celebrating early with two truly exceptional individuals❤️💛.

On October 12, Jackman reached the age of 56, whereas October 23 marks Reynold’s 48th birthday.

Regarding the most recent Marvel production, Ryan Reynolds once more slipped into the role of Deadpool, joining forces with Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine character, to take on the villainy of Cassandra Nova in the film.
