DEADPOOL & WOLVERINE Concept Art of Unused Variants Is Wonderfully Goofy

As a fan who has spent countless hours immersed in the wild and wacky world of Deadpool, I must say that the concept art for the unseen variants from *Deadpool & Wolverine* has left me yearning for more. The idea of a mashup between Wolverine and Deadpool, aptly named Wolverpool or Deadverine, is simply too intriguing to ignore.

In the movie “Deadpool & Wolverine,” there’s a huge number of Deadpool characters in the Deadpool Corps who are believed to be Wade Wilson or even possibly Wanda Wilson. However, it’s possible that some of these aren’t either of them! Among these variants like Lady Deadpool and others, some didn’t make it into the final version of the film. Lately, the senior concept artist for “Deadpool & Wolverine,” David Masson, has been posting some of the concept art for the unseen characters from the Void on his Instagram. After seeing these, we really hope a few more made it through that portal!

Wolverpool/Deadverine

Initially, there’s a character we truly hoped would appear in the final movie, given his unique design. He goes by the name of Wolverpool (or possibly Deadverine), a character who seems to be a blend of Wolverine and Deadpool. While it’s unclear whether he is Logan or Wade beneath that mask, one can speculate that he might be the result of some strange genetic experiment combining the two. Unfortunately, we may never find out the truth. However, isn’t he an intriguing and cool-looking character?

Punkpool

In the animated film “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse,” even a punk rock version of Spiderman fit, so why not have a punk rock Deadpool? This version of Deadpool, or Punkpool as we might call him, embodies all the traditional punk rock elements, such as a leather jacket adorned with studs, a mohawk hairstyle, and the anarchy symbol. Perhaps this interpretation of Wade Wilson originated from 1970s London? It’s fun to imagine the unique accent Ryan Reynolds could give him. However, they might have decided he was too similar to Spider-Punk in the end.

Masson is additionally unveiling other versions that didn’t advance past the idea phase, such as Grandma Deadpool and the Mexican wrestler Deadpool. It seems that one resembled Batman villain Bane a bit too much. Is that Pigpool we spot in the video? We anticipate Mr. Masson to disclose more on his Instagram soon. Who knows, perhaps another Deadpool movie might give these eccentrics a chance to appear on the big screen. After all, anything can happen in the Multiverse!
