As a devoted fan, I can’t help but share my excitement as the fame of Deadpool skyrockets, leaving Wolverine and him in an unbeatable box office race. Just recently, Deadpool played a trick on us fans with a clever prank from Shueisha, announcing that Deadpool Samurai is making a triumphant return! This secret project had been under wraps for over a month, and now Shueisha has officially confirmed the arrival of Deadpool Samurai Season 2.
Shueisha has unveiled “Secret Steward,” a fresh romantic comedy series featuring a rich girl and her butler. The debut occurred on Jump Plus in Japan, however, it didn’t follow the usual course. In an unexpected twist, the main character was run over by a Deadpool-themed truck and the butler assumed the role of Secret Steward. Shueisha has also confirmed that Deadpool Samurai 2nd Season is on its way, a surprising announcement given Deadpool’s knack for messing with the Marvel Universe. This move seems to have been aimed at manga enthusiasts, underscoring Deadpool’s fondness for surprises and his talent for trolling the Marvel Universe.
At present, there’s no announced date for the return of Deadpool Samurai, but this Marvel manga stands out as one of the top-tier series. Launched by creators Sanshiro Kasama and Hikaru Uesugi in December 2020, it quickly gained viral popularity. Fans have long been clamoring for additional content, and Deadpool’s growing success on the big screen presents an ideal opportunity for the manga to make a comeback.
As a longtime fan of Deadpool, I must say that I am absolutely thrilled to see this Merc with a Mouth grace the pages of a manga! Having followed his adventures through various mediums over the years, I can confidently say that this latest addition is sure to be a hit among fans.
The artwork in Deadpool Samurai doesn’t really stand out in terms of innovation. Despite being well-executed, it generally falls within the realm of typical manga art, offering nothing particularly striking. As for the main characters, they are skillfully designed; however, some villains appear to be hastily drawn and somewhat unrefined in appearance.
Deadpool Samurai’s visual appeal is notably strong due to its humorously satirical jabs at popular manga series like Demon Slayer and Devilman, with even the shonen genre finding itself in the crosshairs of the wise-cracking antihero.
The tale of Deadpool: Samurai chronicles the Mouthy Merc’s transition to Tokyo where he teams up with a fresh group of samurai. Continuing his signature mix of intense and amusing action, this series features cameos from familiar characters, adversaries, and much more. Spanning 15 chapters, Deadpool: Samurai is divided into two volumes. While there’s no definitive word on when we might see another installment, fans hope for continued storylines – if not expansions!
The storyline, though predictable, offers enjoyable chaos typical of Deadpool, a fact that Sanshiro Kasama, familiar with Deadpool’s universe, skillfully preserves through humor. This manga also appeals by acknowledging its role as a delight for both Marvel and manga enthusiasts, serving as fan service.
