Indeed, James Gunn and Peter Safran conducted a press conference regarding DCU, which took place on a Friday. Since then, multiple media outlets who attended the event have published their respective reports.
They’ve disclosed their strategy to put out three live-action DC films and one animated one each year, along with two live-action TV shows and two animated TV series on Max annually.
Gunn reveals that he’s got a strategy spanning over six years, aiming for a grand finale reminiscent of “Avengers: Endgame,” though he declined to share specifics.
Check out the updates:
Is Zack Snyder back at DC?
It seems there’s been a lot of speculation among fans about whether Zack Snyder has returned to DC. However, Gunn recently clarified that the photo they shared was just intended to cause a stir on the internet. In other words, at this moment, Zack Snyder is not working for DC.
What about Robert Pattinson as Batman in the DCU?
Reports suggest that James Gunn may have expressed interest in having Robert Pattinson play Batman in the DC Universe. However, Gunn clarified that there were no substantial discussions about bringing Pattinson into the DCU. Despite discussing various possibilities, it doesn’t necessarily mean that there were serious talks about casting Pattinson as Batman. So, to set the record straight, Robert Pattinson is not currently slated to play Batman in the DC Universe.
Update on Matt Reeves’ Batman 2
Concerning “The Batman” sequel, Matt Reeves has yet to submit the finalized screenplay. Gunn and Safran are satisfied with the early drafts, and filming is expected to commence by the end of this year.
Brave and the Bold
The project titled “Brave and the Bold” remains in developmental stages, with Andy Muschietti still officially attached as director, albeit it seems he’s not currently heavily involved in the process. In truth, Gunn is the one actively developing “Brave and the Bold,” collaborating with a writer whose identity hasn’t been disclosed yet to avoid any potential pressure on them. Muschietti will receive the script once it’s finalized.

The Authority
It appears as though the film isn’t going forward either. Given its size, certain narrative aspects from other DC productions seem to intertwine with it.
Paradise Lost
