DCU Lanterns Rumors Include Kyle Rayner & Obsidian

There are some possible leaks concerning the upcoming DCU Lanterns series on HBO Max, set to debut in 2026.

According to an account on X, Kyle Rayner and Obsidian will be appearing in Lanterns.

It’s noteworthy that in July, the account shared information about Peacemaker Season 2 related to the DCEU Justice League. This seems to have been verified.

What are the rumors?

Back in November 2024, it was initially stated that Obsidian would feature in Lanterns. However, a tweet from Kyle Rayner followed in February. Keep in mind that plans can always shift.

In the upcoming series, Kyle Chandler takes on the role of Hal Jordan, while Aaron Pierre portrays John Stewart. Notably, Nathan Fillion reprises his roles from both ‘Superman’ and ‘Peacemaker’ Season 2 by playing Guy Gardner in this production as well.

As a die-hard comic book fan, I’ve been pondering the possibility that Kyle Rayner might not have officially donned the Green Lantern ring just yet. His introduction seems to be setting up something intriguing about Hal Jordan, my favorite character, down the line. It’s like a tantalizing hint at an exciting twist in the Green Lantern Corps storyline.

According to insider sources, Lanterns is highly praised as being excellent. Initially, it maintains a solid foundation in reality, but soon delves deeply into the realm of science fiction.

Who are Kyle Chandler and Obsidian?

In the world of DC Comics, Kyle Rayner is an artist who takes on the mantle of Green Lantern following Hal Jordan’s downfall. Bestowed upon him by the last Guardian, Ganthet, and equipped with the final operational Green Lantern ring, Kyle demonstrates his ingenuity and resourcefulness among the Corps, becoming one of their most creative members. Over time, he assumes the roles of Ion, the White Lanent, and a pivotal figure in the DC Universe.

In the world of comics, Obsidian is a superhero known as Todd Rice. He’s a unique character, being the son of Alan Scott, the first Green Lantern, and the twin sibling of the heroine called Jade. Obsidian possesses an extraordinary ability to manipulate and command shadows. This power allows him to move unnoticed, teleport, and even engulf others in darkness when necessary.
