In their time, DC Comics established a distinctive theme for formidable cat-like characters, with Catwoman being the pioneer. Other feline figures followed suit, such as Wildcat and Tigress. However, when it comes to criminal felines, none surpass the notoriety of Cheetah from Wonder Woman’s rogues gallery and Cheshire from Teen Titans. In a fresh collaboration, these two villainesses will be starring in a new series penned by renowned writer Greg Rucka, also known for his work on Wonder Woman and The Old Guard, along with artist Nicola Scott from Titans. The six-issue series is titled “Cheetah and Cheshire: Robbing the Justice League“, giving a clear indication of the storyline. The titular characters Cheetah and Cheshire mastermind and execute a daring heist – stealing from the most heavily guarded facility within the DC Universe. Successfully evading capture, they make off with their prize, but achieving this seemingly insurmountable feat necessitates them assembling an elite crew capable of outsmarting not only the odds but also the Justice League themselves…without backstabbing one another during their quest to acquire one of the most dangerous artifacts in the DCU!
The main obstacles for those involved in this six-part adventure to achieve the boldest rescue operation in DC history are minor inconveniences such as a highly advanced satellite platform, its intelligent security system, and one additional challenge…the sharpest and strongest heroes within the DC Universe.
According to writer Greg Rucka, this Cheetah and Cheshire story is primarily about a group of characters often considered villains who wouldn’t normally be part of the Justice League on their Watchtower. The plot isn’t going to be easy for them. However, for Cheetah in particular, this mission is a do-or-die situation; she absolutely must complete this task and nothing or no one will stop her from achieving her goal.
