DC Reveals Milly Alcock Supergirl Variant Cover For New Comic

DC Comics is continuing to promote Supergirl with its “Summer of Supergirl” campaign. As part of this, they’ve announced a new one-shot comic book and a special variant cover connecting it to the upcoming Supergirl movie starring Milly Alcock.

I just got the scoop on the Summer of Supergirl Special #1, and it’s hitting shelves on June 24th – perfectly timed, actually, just two days before the Supergirl movie flies into theaters! It’s part of a larger push from DC Comics to tie in with the film’s release, and I’m excited to see how the comic expands on the movie’s story.

DC Announces Summer Of Supergirl Special #1

DC announced a new 48-page comic book featuring three stories that highlight Supergirl’s role in the DC Universe.

The main story, illustrated by Sophie Campbell and Belén Ortega, features a showdown between Supergirl and Lobo in Midvale.

DC announced two extra stories will be included, one created by Mark Waid and Cian Tormey, and another by Gail Simone and Emma Kubert.

I’m so excited about this special! It’s all about Kara finally stepping into her destiny as the true heir to El. It’s been a long time coming, and I can’t wait to see her take her rightful place!

Milly Alcock Movie Variant Cover Included

The Summer of Supergirl Special #1 will feature a Supergirl movie variant cover by Mahmud Asrar.

It connects the comics push directly to the new Supergirl film starring Milly Alcock.

Summer Of Supergirl Push Keeps Expanding

The one-shot is only part of the larger publishing lineup DC has planned.

DC is releasing a series of Supergirl-related comics and collectibles this summer, including the Supergirl: Survive miniseries, reprints of classic Supergirl and Legion of Super-Heroes issues, and a special edition of Lobo #1. They’re also offering a large-format art book focused on the Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow storyline, plus new Supergirl-themed cover art for various DC comics.

Supergirl Gets A Bigger DC Spotlight

DC is keeping Supergirl front and center with a special episode, several new books, and even a movie-themed comic book cover, all planned through the summer of 2026.

Summer of Supergirl Special #1 releases June 24 for $5.99, with variants priced at $6.99.

The movie Supergirl, directed by Craig Gillespie and featuring Jason Momoa as Lobo, will be released in theaters on June 26th.
