DC Comics is clearly leaning into Lobo.
Now that Jason Momoa is confirmed to play Lobo in the new Supergirl movie from DC Studios, DC Comics is releasing a new Lobo comic book series, launching with issue #1 in March 2026 as part of their DC: NEXT LEVEL lineup.
It’s no coincidence. With Lobo finally appearing in live-action, DC is also highlighting the character in their comic books.

DC ALL IN Moves Into Its Second Act With NEXT LEVEL
DC announced the next stage of its publishing plan, DC ALL IN, will begin next year with DC: NEXT LEVEL. This new initiative will focus on launching exciting new #1 issues driven by the creative vision of the artists and writers, and will feature well-known characters.
As a DC fan, I’m seeing “Next Level” as a direct continuation of everything DC’s been building towards lately. It picks up right after the “All In” special, continues the exciting new direction of the Absolute Universe, and keeps the energy going from the current “K.O.” event. Basically, it feels like DC isn’t letting up and is pushing these storylines forward.
Scott Snyder and Joshua Williamson explained that NEXT LEVEL is designed to make DC’s core stories easy to follow, while also encouraging writers to be bold and creative.
Williamson explained that the books follow a connected storyline, but each one will also be accessible to readers new to the series.

Lobo #1 Brings Skottie Young And Jorge Corona To The Main Man
Leading the initiative is Lobo #1, written by Skottie Young with art and a main cover by Jorge Corona.

DC’s new Lobo series is promising a wild ride – think fast motorcycles, plenty of action, and universe-spanning craziness. While it ties into stories from DC K.O., you don’t need to know those to enjoy it.

The first issue of Lobo arrives on March 4, 2026, with a variety of covers. Artists like Lee Bermejo, KyuYong Eom, and Corona have contributed cover designs, and there will also be special incentive and foil versions available.

Pricing starts at $3.99, with cardstock and foil variants priced higher.

Batwoman And Deathstroke Also Get New Series
NEXT LEVEL isn’t just about Lobo.
DC also announced:
