David Tennant, recognized for his performances as Doctor Who and in various other roles, openly expresses his desire to portray Reed Richards, also known as Mr. Fantastic, who is a key member of the Fantastic Four. However, the role eventually was given to Pedro Pascal.
Already played a supervillain
At the MCM Comic Con, a fan posed a question to the actor: If given a choice between portraying a supervillain or a superhero, which one would you pick?
Well, Tennant already played a supervillain in the Marvel Netflix series, Jessica Jones.
Regarding formidable adversaries, I’ve got a top-notch one in Kilgrave,” he stated. “I must say, it turned out splendidly for me. I was more than satisfied with the outcome.
Eye on Reed Richards
So, how about a superhero?
As a fan, I must admit that my interest was leaning towards Reed Richards, but it seems they’ve chosen another path instead. If a replacement had to be made, I can’t help but express my delight at the prospect of Pedro Pascal stepping into the role. Frankly, I’m not quite sure who else is left…
Tennant Shows Off His Stretchy Side
As a die-hard movie enthusiast, I mentioned that the superhero could be anyone from my imagination, regardless if they’ve already been claimed. Intriguingly, I insisted on Reed Richards as my pick, and to illustrate his unique abilities, I demonstrated an example of Mr. Fantastic’s elastic prowess (depicted earlier).
He expressed, “I truly wish I could be Reed Richards, with his abilities. Though I can’t, I still yearn for those powers. Even if the opportunity has passed and it might take some time until it comes again, I am content to continue desiring them.
He ended by expressing his approval of Pascal, saying, “I find Pedro Pascal outstanding. I’m extremely happy that he’s around.
Marvel’s The Fantastic Four: First Steps gets released on July 25.
