Amazon’s MGM+ and Paramount+ are creating a six-episode adventure series based on the classic story Treasure Island. David Oyelowo will star as Long John Silver, the famous pirate who helped shape how pirates are portrayed in movies and books.
The show stars Hayley Atwell, Jack Huston, Tomer Capone, and Tom Sweet. Filming is already underway.
The new series, Treasure Island, will be available on MGM+ in the US and on Paramount+ in the UK and Ireland. FIFTH SEASON will be responsible for distributing the series everywhere else in the world.

Classic Story Reimagined For Television
This new show offers a fresh take on the classic adventure story, centering around Jim Hawkins and his journey from youth to adulthood.
The story centers on Jim, a naive teenager who unexpectedly becomes a pirate when he finds an old treasure map. His mother, Bess Hawkins, takes a bold action that puts Jim in possession of crucial and risky information about the treasure.
Their journey takes them onto the ship Hispaniola, where they meet the clever pirate Long John Silver and the deceitful British agent Aaron Graham.
With changing loyalties and hidden truths coming to light, Jim faces a dangerous journey by sea, traveling from the Atlantic Ocean to the Caribbean.
The story culminates with the search for fortune on the infamous Skeleton Island.
