David Harbour Hints at Major MCU Changes with the Release of ‘Thunderbolts*’: “It fundamentally changes the course”

As a dedicated Marvel fan with years of experience under my belt, I can hardly contain my excitement for the upcoming “Thunderbolts” movie! SDCC 2024 was a whirlwind of surprises, but none compared to the tantalizing glimpse we got into the world of the Thunderbolts.

2021’s San Diego Comic-Con left me spellbound! Marvel Studios’ Hall H showcase was chock-full of surprises, particularly focusing on the ‘Avengers’ series. But here’s something that truly electrified me – a peek into the future of the ‘Thunderbolts’ team!

As a long-time fan of Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), I’m thrilled to my bones about the upcoming release of “Thunderbolts,” set for May 5, 2025. With just a hint of information disclosed so far, my curiosity is piqued like never before! The fact that the movie will feature a team of outcasts resonates deeply with me, as I’ve always been drawn to stories about underdogs and those who defy societal expectations. And the inclusion of Sentry into the MCU? Absolutely mind-blowing! Having followed the character’s journey in Marvel Comics, I can only imagine what the MCU version will bring to the table. The anticipation is real, folks, and I can hardly wait to see how this unfolds! #Thunderbolts #MCU #MarvelFanAtHeart

At the presentation, the most captivating part was without a doubt the unique video footage. The sequence commences with Yelena paying a visit to Alexei’s disorganized apartment and raising doubts about his contentment. Accompanied by a dramatic rendition of “Where Is My Mind” by the Pixies, this footage portrays the Thunderbolts on the same assignment but unable to collaborate effectively. Additionally, it presents a character named Bob (portrayed by Pullman as Sentry) in a hospital gown before concluding the clip.

Kevin Feige reiterated that the Thunderbolts team name does not belong to Thaddeus Ross. The actors portraying the team members depicted them as an uneasy ensemble unwilling to cooperate.

Following the unveiling, ComicBook had a chat with David Harbour (the actor portraying Red Guardian), and he subtly suggested that the forthcoming film could significantly alter the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

1. In our story, our characters will encounter an enigma they can’t fully grasp, which significantly alters the direction of events as they unfold. Just wanted to share that tidbit. By the way, I’ve got a lot on my plate for tomorrow, with phone calls coming in.

With the mysterious Multiverse Saga, it’s challenging to identify precisely what Harbour may be hinting at. Nevertheless, he seems to be suggesting Sentry – a formidable Marvel character and an upcoming MCU debut, portrayed by Lewis Pullman. There are whispers that Sentry possesses the power of shapeshifting, but this could possibly mean manipulating molecules instead.

The arrival of Sentry is expected to make a major difference in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, prompting speculation about how the Thunderbolts will deal with him. Given his apparent boundless abilities clashing with super-powered individuals, there are theories that Sentry may adhere to a “no-kill” rule within the MCU, which could provide some protection for the Thunderbolts.
