As a longtime admirer of Superman and his timeless values, I must say that David Corenswet’s dedication to embodying this iconic character is nothing short of inspiring. His physical transformation, as detailed by his trainer and evident from the images, is truly remarkable. It reminds me of my own struggles to fit into my pants after a particularly indulgent holiday season!
David Coreswet underwent an impressive body change to play Superman (also known as the Man of Steel) in DC’s upcoming movie. The actor recently spoke about his fitness journey and preparation for the role on a podcast called Manly Things. In an open conversation, Coreswet, who is famous for his part in The Politician, admitted that he tipped the scales at 238 lbs during his peak physique, finding himself unable to fit into any of his pants.
During the podcast, David Corenswet’s trainer, Paolo Mascitti, expressed his thoughts about the actor’s transformation. He stated, “David put in a tremendous amount of effort. I’m eager to reveal more about the training we underwent to prepare for portraying this legendary character.
However, he isn’t the only Superman actor to have undergone a physical transformation. Christopher Reeve, who played Clark Kent in the 1978 Superman film, gained 30 lbs after training with Darth Vader actor David Prowse. Despite being an athlete, Brandon Routh gained 25 lbs for Superman Returns.
As an ardent admirer, I can’t help but marvel at Henry Cavill’s dedication to embodying the legendary hero. His workout routine was nothing short of rigorous, involving a whopping 10 hours of sleep each day, devouring a staggering 6,000 calories, and tackling deadlifts, front-and-back squats, and kettlebell swings. It’s evident that the next superhero in line, Conrenswet, is ready to step into those hallowed shoes and bear the physical brunt that comes with it.
The upcoming Superman movie, scheduled for release next year, will delve into the character’s journey of balancing his ancestral roots with his human upbringing. Officially described as “a beacon of truth, justice, and the American ideal in a world that finds such values outdated,” the film is highly anticipated. The film’s conclusion was recently announced by James Gunn, its writer and director, on social media.
The post featured a photo of his “gift wrapped” item, which appeared to be a frame holding one of Superman’s comic book covers. “@nicholashoult, thank you so much for this fantastic gift! (We haven’t been wrapped yet, but Nick certainly has! Can’t wait for you to meet Lex,” he wrote in the caption.
