Dave Grohl’s Daughter Violet, 18, Deactivates Instagram Amid News of Musician Welcoming Child Outside Marriage

It seems Dave Grohl’s eldest daughter has temporarily stepped away from Instagram following reports about his recent birth of a child outside of his marriage. On September 10th, the renowned musician publicly expressed his intentions to be an involved parent for his new-born. Simultaneously, he emphasized his efforts to rebuild trust with his wife of 23 years, Jordyn Blum, and their three daughters, Violet (18), Harper (15), and Ophelia (10).

From Tuesday afternoon onwards, my heart skipped a beat every time I refreshed Violet’s Instagram, only to find the same eerie silence. I can’t tell you when she took the plunge, but her account appears to have vanished, leaving me longing for more of her enchanting posts.

At the Glastonbury Festival in June, the Foo Fighters frontman introduced a teenager named Violet from the stage before playing a track from his newest album titled “But Here We Are.” Later, during their performance on the coveted Pyramid stage, the father-daughter duo sang a song called “Show Me How.” Grohl mentioned that he wrote this song for his mother and Violet’s grandmother.

The musician exclaimed, “Look at my girl!”, showcasing his pride and encouragement as his daughter finished the song with him.

Previously this year, Grohl, Violet, Blum, Harper, and Ophelia graced the Grammy Awards red carpet as a family, beaming and striking poses together. At the ceremony, the musician opted for his signature rock look, complete with black-framed glasses, while his wife donned a chic, little black sequined dress with off-shoulders and white lace detailing. Violet chose a blazer dress and knee-high boots, accentuating her style with bold red lips. In a 2009 interview with TIME, Grohl, often referred to as a devoted family man, openly shared tender feelings towards his children. He admitted that, in the past, he was frequently on tour for nine months out of twelve, but since becoming a father, it’s become difficult for him to be apart from his kids for over a dozen days at a time.
