At the Sundance Film Festival, where Dave Franco premiered his latest movie “Together”, he has been fielding comparisons to Luigi Mangione that have gone viral. In simpler terms, people have been noticing a resemblance between him and Luigi Mangione, which has become quite popular online.
In a horror movie where he acts alongside his wife Alison Brie, Franco has confessed that the similarity to Mangione has caused an influx of messages. “I’ve never had more texts about anything in my life,” Franco stated. “Anyone with my phone number has contacted me about it.
After Mangione’s arrest for the murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson in December, various comparisons arose among social media users. They proposed Franco as a possible choice for portraying Mangione in a potential movie version.
In December, Luigi Mangione found himself in the news when allegations emerged that he had fatally shot Thompson in the bustling district of Manhattan. Following a prolonged search, Mangione was apprehended in Pennsylvania on the 9th of December. He has pleaded innocent and is scheduled to appear in court again in February.
Although an official movie about the case hasn’t been confirmed yet, various documentaries, such as one by Academy Award-winning director Alex Gibney, are currently being made.
Responding to the question about featuring Mangione in a movie, Franco made it clear, “No, there’s been no formal proposals.” With a playful tone, Brie quipped, “Or perhaps I should say, ‘Is everyone invited?’

Franco pointed out that the filming process required full vigor every day from the get-go. He mentioned that while it was tough, once you’re immersed, it becomes thrilling.
