It’s been confirmed by Marvel Television that Jon Bernthal is set to return as Frank Castle, also known as The Punisher, in an upcoming Disney+ special. Previously, he played this role in the initial season of Daredevil: Born Again.
According to Brad Winderbaum, who heads Marvel Television, he described the upcoming story as a fast-paced, explosive narrative, yet it still manages to deliver the depth and emotional impact that fans expect from a Punisher tale. He found it incredibly thrilling.
In simpler terms, Bernthal will once again embody Frank Castle, also known as the Punisher, and make an appearance in the upcoming Daredevil series. This upcoming project is rumored to follow a similar structure to other Marvel specials like “Werewolf by Night” and “The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special.” According to reports from our source.
According to reports, the actor from The Walking Dead is teaming up with Reinaldo Marcus Green to pen the script. Winderbaum spoke highly of Bernthal, expressing that he’s a remarkable talent who truly embodies Frank Castle’s character and brings depth to every role he plays. Furthermore, Winderbaum added that Bernthal has a deep understanding of the character as a writer.
Initially, Bernthal portrayed the character of Frank Castle, a complex anti-hero, in Netflix’s Daredevil. Later, he headlined his own series on Netflix, which spanned over two seasons and 26 episodes between 2017 and 19. Joining Bernthal in The Punisher were actors like Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Ben Barnes, Amber Rose Revah, Daniel Webber, Paul Schulze, among others.
