Daredevil: Born Again Season Finale Saves The MCU – For Now (Review)

At long last, the season finale of “Daredevil: Born Again” truly delivered an impressive performance! Can you imagine how incredible it would have been if every one of the preceding eight episodes matched this quality? Incredible indeed!

Initially, the first eight episodes seemed questionable at their best, possibly a blend of material from before and after the plan to revamp the series. Frankly, it might have been wiser for Kevin Feige to abandon everything and begin anew, but with Bob Iger cutting Marvel’s budget and reducing Disney+ content, they may not have had the liberty or the funds to do so.

The fantastic news? The season finale is so impressive that it seems it will significantly influence the upcoming Season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again, entirely reimagined by its new creative team. This final episode lays the groundwork for many exciting developments to come—it even suggests a potential comeback for The Defenders! Yes, Daredevil’s upcoming battles will require a formidable force to take down Kingpin. Although it’s always thrilling to have Frank Castle return as The Punisher, having two vigilantes might not be enough for the challenges ahead.

There’s chatter that Krysten Ritter might reprise her role as Jessica Jones. I’m hoping they’ll also bring back Mike Colter as Luke Cage. As for Finn Jones as Iron Fist, he’s expressed interest in returning, and truthfully, I wouldn’t object if he got a good amount of training time this time.

Regarding that thrilling season finale, it was indeed filled with intense action and grueling fight sequences! Plus, the return of the Kingpin is upon us, and I must say, no more tearful moments please, and definitely avoid any scenes where he sheds tears.

Additionally, I found it compelling that the show emphasized Daredevil as the true hero. In a situation where he could have ended a life, similar to when DD confronted Kingpin, Daredevil opted to rescue instead. This distinction separates him from The Punisher, highlighting his selfless nature.

Hey there, weren’t Karen’s return fantastic? You won’t believe it when Foggy makes an appearance! What? Really?!”

This version maintains the original’s tone and meaning while using more common and conversational language.

The Verdict

In recent times, the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) has seemed close to its end, with “Daredevil: Born Again” appearing as another potential failure. However, this season finale breathes new life into the MCU, resurrecting Daredevil and giving him a second chance. Here’s hoping this revival lasts. Rating: 9/10.
