‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Reportedly Almost Killed Off Foggy – Here’s Why I Think That’s Still Going to Happen

As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of comic book-inspired gaming under my belt, I can’t help but feel a pang of nostalgia and anticipation as I delve into the latest developments of Daredevil: Born Again. The news about the show’s directional shift and the potential demise of Foggy Nelson has sent ripples through the comic book community, and as someone who’s spent countless hours playing as Matt Murdock’s trusted ally, I can’t help but feel a sense of apprehension tinged with excitement.

As a devoted fan excitedly awaiting “Daredevil: Born Again,” I must admit there were some hurdles during its development. Initially, it was envisioned as a courtroom drama with limited action from Daredevil himself. But then, in the heart of September 2023, just after we’d filmed six out of the intended 18 episodes, Marvel Studios decided to alter the show’s course.

Consequently, the initial chief writers, Corman and Ord, together with the other directors, were let go following a review of the footage by the executives, who determined that the series was not successful.

The way they handled Daredevil: Born Again deviated significantly from the Netflix adaptation, leading to Charlie Cox’s first appearance as Daredevil in the fourth episode. Marvel aimed to preserve some existing footage while blending in fresh components to better align with the original Netflix series’ tone.

It was a letdown for many viewers when they found out that Elden Henson’s character Foggy and Deborah Ann Woll’s character Karen wouldn’t appear in the upcoming reboot. This news triggered strong criticism, especially after rumors emerged suggesting these characters might be killed off between the storylines of Netflix’s Daredevil and Born Again.

In the end, the production team decided to abandon the initial version of the show and re-film it entirely, causing quite a stir among fans. The news that both Karen and Foggy would be reintroduced into the script made them even more eager. Interestingly, photos of the two actors on set have surfaced; however, it’s important to note that there’s a major catch:

Based on recent insider information and leaked set footage, it seems highly possible that either Karen or Foggy will meet a tragic end in the early episodes. A video from the set depicts Karen attending to someone who appears to be unconscious or deceased – possibly Foggy.

There’s a possibility that Foggy could experience a dramatic exit from the series to create a powerful emotional response, but he may not be permanently written out. This departure could also open up an exceptionally gripping narrative arc for Foggy within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Title “The Devil in Cell-Block D” penned by Ed Brubaker provides the Marvel Cinematic Universe with an opportunity to intensify the challenges faced by Daredevil, driving him towards a boiling point of anger and bitterness, all while orchestrating a mind-blowing plot turn for Foggy.

In this tale, Matt gets exposed as Daredevil by the press, leading him to be incarcerated. During a meeting with Foggy and detective Dakota North, Foggy sustains severe injuries after being assaulted by multiple inmates.

Matt hears the gradual silencing of his friend’s heartbeat, and later, Foggy is officially declared dead after being transported in an ambulance. Murdock attends Foggy’s funeral, during which Rosalind Sharpe, Foggy’s mother, accuses him of causing her son’s demise.

As it turned out later on, I discovered that Foggy wasn’t truly deceased, instead, he had been hidden away in the FBI’s witness protection program to ensure his safety and help him start anew. Eager to reconnect with Matt, I made a daring move to break free from this protective custody but was unfortunately caught by the mafia. However, their grip on me loosened when the mafia was swiftly taken down by ninjas from the Hand, who were carrying out Elektra’s instructions at the time.

The ninjas handed Foggy back over to his initial captors, making it clear they would be monitoring him closely.

Ultimately, Foggy found freedom and resumed his partnership with Matt Murdock. Together, they chose to relocate their law firm and adopt a referral-exclusive policy to steer clear of unwanted notice from Daredevil’s adversaries. Becky Blake was welcomed aboard as a fresh partner in this new endeavor.

Although it’s not certain whether this plotline will get developed, there are strong indications suggesting this hypothesis, notably from behind-the-scenes footage depicting Foggy appearing to be deceased and the conspicuous appearance of Vanessa Fisk.

Ayelet Zurer was also seen on location, and it’s expected that her character may have influential connections with the Kingpin. Additionally, Vanessa has been instrumental in helping Foggy orchestrate his own demise.

In the narrative, Vanessa becomes critically unwell and chooses to resolve all her outstanding obligations. From a distance, she orchestrated the series of events that resulted in the arrests of Matt Murdock and her husband, Wilson Fisk. This manipulation involved staging Foggy’s death and employing Iron Fist to impersonate Daredevil within Hell’s Kitchen.

It makes sense that Iron Fist might assume Daredevil’s role, given the speculations about his possible introduction in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Additionally, Vanessa skillfully persuaded both Tombstone and Lily Lucca into initiating a vengeful expedition for Murdock throughout Europe, which was aimed at confronting Daredevil and Wilson, due to her specific predicament.
