Daredevil: Born Again Ratings Disappoint, Struggling Against Disney+ Rivals!

Disney has disclosed the viewership ratings for the widely advertised “Daredevil: Born Again” series, and much like the show itself, they’re starting off moderately—about equal to “Agatha,” which is among the least-watched shows on Disney+.

The numbers are less than those of shows such as “The Acolyte” (which ended after just one season), “Ahsoka” (reportedly ending after its third season), “Percy Jackson,” and far fewer than “Loki.

What are the numbers?

Based on Variety’s report, the initial two episodes of “Daredevil: Born Again” garnered approximately 7.5 million views within their first five days. Although this is the top premiere for Disney+ in 2025 as per their report, let’s explore what other content was released during that year.

Versus Agatha

According to Disney, the new series “Agatha” garnered approximately 9.3 million views in its initial seven days, equating to around 1.33 million viewers per day. In contrast, “Daredevil: Born Again” averages about 1.5 million views daily.

Versus Star Wars

Compared to Star Wars’ The Acolyte, Ahsoka garnered approximately 14 million views within the first five days, with an average of about 2.8 million per day; whereas The Acolyte managed around 11.1 million views, averaging at roughly 2.22 million views per day.

Versus Loki

In the initial three days of airing, Loki Season 2 accumulated a viewership of approximately 10.9 million, which calculates to an average of around 3.63 million per day. This figure surpasses that of Daredevil: Born Again by more than twice.

Versus Percy Jackson

Percy Jackson achieved 13.3 million viewers in its first six days, averaging around 2.22 million.

Nielsen ratings

As a discerning movie critic, I eagerly await the Nielsen ratings, which should be out within a month’s time. It’s worth noting that these ratings are automatically collected by Disney+ and widely recognized as the benchmark for viewership in our industry. Unfortunately, the data gathered by Samba TV, a household name backed by Disney, has yet to be released, leaving us all on the edge of our seats until those numbers are revealed.

Given that Daredevil: Born Again bears a resemblance to Agatha, it’s likely that their Nielsen ratings will be comparable. Here are the ratings for Agatha and the MCU debuts on Disney+ for your reference.

Lukewarm so far

Concerning “Daredevil: Born Again,” although it’s been revamped, it’s unclear what specific issues have been addressed. The CGI was mediocre at best, they eliminated and replaced two beloved characters with DEI stand-ins, the Kingpin’s wife seems more powerful than him, and there were lengthy dialogues without much action. However, the end of the second episode hints at potential improvement, so let’s keep our fingers crossed.

The reception for Rotten Tomatoes has been somewhat moderate; it’s sitting at 83%, with Netflix’s series faring much better, averaging 92% from critics and 89% from fans. Interestingly, its first season on Netflix received an exceptional response, boasting a whopping 99% from critics and 93% from viewers.
