The long-awaited Disney Plus series, “Daredevil: Born Again,” is set to premiere on March 4, 2025. Over nine captivating episodes will be rolled out weekly on the streaming service. Initially planned as a 18-episode series in 2022, the number of episodes was eventually decreased during production.
Filming for the project kicked off in March 2023, but it had to be put on hold due to writers’ and actors’ strikes. During this break, Marvel Studios decided to make significant changes to the series, swapping out the initial showrunners Matt Corman and Chris Ord with Dario Scardapane. Filming recommenced in January 2024 and wrapped up in April.
In October 2024, the initial glimpse of Daredevil: Born Again was unveiled, featuring Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock and Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk engaged in a confrontation.
Fisk remarks ominously, “It seems we haven’t crossed paths in a while, doesn’t it?” The audience was treated to the reappearance of the Punisher and thrilling Daredevil scenes as well.
At New York Comic-Con, I got a thrilling glimpse at an extended trailer that packed a punch with gritty crime drama, the highly anticipated return of Bullseye, and the much-awaited Marvel Cinematic Universe introduction of White Tiger. It even hinted at intriguing scenes involving Karen Page and Foggy Nelson, generating immense enthusiasm among fans of the Netflix series.
The show centers around Daredevil’s struggle for justice, both as an attorney and a masked avenger, alongside Kingpin, who is vying for power by running for Mayor of New York City.
Based on the summary provided by Marvel, “As their former personas resurface, these two individuals are inexorably headed towards a clash.
As a devoted fan, I’m excited to share that the story unfolds five years following the Netflix series, with Actor Wilson Bethel, portraying Bullseye, confirming this timeline. Furthermore, Charlie Cox assures us that the series maintains its gritty and violent atmosphere, even surpassing the darkness of the original Netflix production.
Charlie Cox stars in the main role, portraying Matt Murdock/Daredevil, with Vincent D’Onofrio playing a significant part as Kingpin. Original characters like Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll), Foggy Nelson (Elden Henson), and Frank Castle/Punisher (Jon Bernthal) reappear. New faces joining the ensemble are Margarita Levieva, who plays Heather Glenn, and Kamar de los Reyes as White Tiger.
