At the New York City debut of Daredevil: Born Again (streaming from March 4th exclusively on Disney+), actor Charlie Cox expressed his musings about Daredevil potentially teaming up with the Avengers. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, he admitted that while there’s no definite news yet, the prospect continues to be a cherished aspiration for what lies ahead.
In other words, since we’re in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, there’s certainly room for possibilities. Honestly, I can’t predict the future. None of us can. However, it’s clear that a collaboration with an Avengers film is something many would hope for someday.
Since taking on the role of Daredevil in 2015, Cox has pondered over the character’s future collaborations. In an interview with ComicBook, when asked if he’d rather see Daredevil team up with the Avengers or the Defenders in the future, he admitted it was a tough call but expressed a slight preference for the Avengers.
Throughout these years, I’ve developed a strong fondness for this character as portrayed by Cox. Noting the exciting team-ups in the comics, Daredevil plays an intriguing and crucial role in some Avengers stories. In my opinion, it would be a fantastic tribute to the character’s rich history if he were to appear with the Avengers.
Lately, there have been rumors swirling around that Cox might be part of the forthcoming Avengers movies, as a gym in Western Australia posted on Instagram about him preparing for an Avengers character.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Cox made it clear that he was preparing for the next season of Daredevil: Reborn, rather than an Avengers film.
Prior to any possible Avengers team-up, Charlie Cox is dedicated to Daredevil: Born Again, his reprisal of the character after a seven-year gap since the original series ended. This new series, set to premiere on Disney+ on March 4, follows Matt Murdock’s narrative as both a lawyer and a vigilante, continuing his story.
In the lineup are familiar faces like Vincent D’Onofrio playing the role of Kingpin, joined by Jon Bernthal, Deborah Ann Woll, and Elden Henson. Originally slated for 18 episodes, the series has since been streamlined into just nine.
The narrative closely follows the original comics, delving into intricate character developments and incorporating fresh aspects such as Karen Page, who becomes Matt Murdock’s love interest, and a novel vigilante known as the White Tiger.
