Daredevil Born Again: Charlie Cox Hints at Surprise Street-Level Heroes Joining the Cast

As a dedicated fan who has followed the journey of Matt Murdock, also known as Daredevil, for years, I am beyond thrilled about the return of Charlie Cox in “Daredevil: Born Again.” The teaser at the D23 Expo was a revelation, and the appearance of White Tiger has only fueled my anticipation.

It’s no surprise that Marvel movies feature cameos; after all, it’s a well-established tradition. The upcoming Daredevil: Born Again series, featuring Charlie Cox, is set to return and hints from the D23 Expo teaser suggest the White Tiger character will make an appearance at some point in the show. Now, Charlie has shared some exciting tidbits about unexpected cameos that fans can look forward to in the series.

Various shows about the life of Matt Murdock, also known as Daredevil, have been produced so far. A fresh take on his original story is coming soon from Disney+, with a unique direction for this series. The premiere date for this new show is set for March 2025.

Appearing in the panel at the FanExpo Chicago, Charlie Cox talked about his upcoming show Daredevil: Born Again and shared how it’s different from the comics. As stated in Screen Rant, the actor even hinted at the characters that might appear as surprise cameos. He said, “We don’t follow any of the comic books in terms of story. We don’t follow any of them closely, and there are a number of reasons for that. One, because if you follow a storyline closely, it becomes a foregone conclusion because everyone knows how it ends. Those of you who saw the leaked trailer from D23 may have noticed a couple of interesting characters come up – I didn’t say it, you said it. The trailer’s now been taken down, so I’m not going to say anything.”

If you attended the D23 Expo, you might have noticed the street-level vigilante White Tiger in a trailer that has since been removed. Actor Charlie Cox expressed his excitement about playing Matt Murdock alongside such a character (implying potential appearances by White Tiger and others), stating, “When I received those scripts, there was one particular character that stood out to me, and I remember reading that [story] before I began working on Daredevil in 2014.”

He went on to say, “I found that plotline very intriguing and the character captivating; their relationship was particularly engaging. It was enjoyable, and I’m thrilled about it. Additionally, there are a few delightful surprise appearances.”

In this upcoming series, you’ll see Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk / Kingpin, Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle / Punisher, Wilson Bethel portraying Benjamin Poindexter / Bullseye, Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Elden Henson playing Foggy Nelson, Ayelet Zurer as Vanessa Fisk, Margarita Levieva, Michael Gandolfini, Genneya Walton, and Arty Froushan making appearances. During an interview with ComicBook, D’Onofrio revealed that this isn’t a continuation of the Netflix series but rather a fresh take on the entire show. He also shared that he and his co-star Charlie are really enjoying filming their scenes for this new endeavor.
