Robert Irwin and his dance partner Witney Carson won Season 34 of Dancing with the Stars. The season finale aired on Tuesday, November 25th, and a remarkable 72 million viewers voted!
Robert Irwin, the son of the late Steve Irwin and a wildlife conservationist, received the highest combined score from the judges and viewers on the show. He and his partner, Carson, earned 89 out of a possible 90 points. While Alix Earle and Val Chmerkovskiy achieved a perfect score of 90, Irwin and Carson ultimately placed higher. Other couples competing included Dylan Efron and Daniella Karagach, Jordan Chiles and Ezra Sosa, and Elaine Hendrix and Alan Bersten.
This season’s finale was a first for the show – the finalists each performed three brand new dances. The night featured dances chosen by the judges, a spontaneous challenge, and free-style routines, allowing the couples to really show off their abilities.
Okay, so Season 34 kicked off with some amazing group numbers! They really set the tone with performances to Tyler, The Creator’s “Sugar on My Tongue,” Lady Gaga’s “Applause,” and Alexander Jean’s “I Don’t Dance.” And the whole thing started with a super energetic performance to The Communards’ “Never Can Say Goodbye” – Joey Pizzi did the choreography, and it was fantastic. As a dance fan, it was a great way to launch the season!
Before the final show, Carson revealed on TikTok that Robert Irwin had been hurt. She explained, “Robert’s ribs were really bothering him, and we’ll share more details on Tuesday about what we’ve been going through all week.” Even though he was injured, Robert and his partner gave a fantastic performance and won the Mirrorball Trophy.
Season 34 was a tough competition, and Irwin’s victory shows how much effort he put in, his unwavering dedication, and the great teamwork he shared with Carson all season long.
