Damian Hardung Reflects On Playing James In Maxton Hall As He Wraps Filming For Season 2: ‘It All Feels A Bit Surreal At Times’

As a dedicated follower and admirer of Damian Hardung’s meteoric rise to fame, I find myself both awestruck and envious as he wraps filming for the second season of Maxton Hall. The German actor’s journey from an unknown face to the current Hollywood heartthrob is nothing short of inspiring.

Damian Hardung, who starred as James Beaufort in the popular Prime Video series Maxton Hall this summer, can’t fathom that he’s finished filming for season 2 of the show that skyrocketed his career. On Wednesday, September 18, he shared on Instagram to announce the end of Maxton Hall Season 2 production. Reflecting on the past few months since the series debuted in May, this German actor looked back at the incredible journey.

Ever since the first season premiered, it sometimes feels like a dream to me,” he posted on his social media, discussing the groundbreaking series that became the most successful international original on the streaming platform. “Playing James was an immense honor, but also the toughest task I’ve ever faced in this strange line of work,” he continued.

Hardung expressed surprise that he won’t be back on set this week as James, underscoring the conclusion of the eagerly awaited second season of the show. In addition to this, the popular figure in Hollywood also hinted at his anticipation for “embarking on a new adventure tomorrow,” possibly referring to his upcoming role in the coming-of-age romance movie, Into the Deep Blue, alongside India Amarteifio from Bridgerton’s Queen Charlotte.

As a lifestyle expert, I’m thrilled to share that I’ve just returned from Maxton Hall, where I had the privilege of witnessing the conclusion of the captivating second season. Prime Video recently announced the wrap by posting an enchanting video montage showcasing our talented cast. Among them are Hardung, Harriet Herbig-Matten, who plays Ruby Bell, James’ charming love interest; Sonja WeiBer, portraying Lydia Beaufort; Ben Felipe as Cyril; Runa Greiner as Ember; Andrea Guo bringing Lin to life; Frederic Balonier captivating us as Kieran; Justus Reisner in his role as Alistair; and Eli Riccardi, brilliantly portraying Elaine.

In the second season of the popular series, we’ll delve into the events of Mona Kasten’s second book from her bestselling German trilogy, titled “Save You.” The story will continue from where the first season concluded, focusing on James and Ruby as they navigate their intense relationship following their passionate night at Oxford, alongside the unexpected death of James’ mother.

In contrast to the unfortunate incident in James’s life that was previously mentioned, a video from Prime Video recently emerged featuring James and Ruby, depicting them contentedly exploring their high school relationship. This clip brought comfort to fans who were concerned about how James would cope with his father’s control issues amidst his mother’s passing.

Season 1 of Maxton Hall is available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
