It’s been confirmed that A24 will unveil the premiere date for the movie “Materialists,” featuring Chris Evans, Dakota Johnson, and Pedro Pascal. This is none other than Celine Song’s high-profile romantic comedy, which has garnered much anticipation. Notably, it marks Song’s second directorial venture after her first film, “Past Lives.

On June 13th, U.S. theaters will screen the romantic comedy titled “Materialists,” as announced by A24. The film centers around a dedicated New York City matchmaker who is faced with a challenging dilemma: choosing between a wealthy, seemingly perfect suitor and her less affluent ex-partner who was once an actor-waiter.

According to the official summary, this heartwarming romantic film revolves around a matchmaker whose prosperous profession becomes entangled when she finds herself ensnared in a harmful love triangle that jeopardizes her clients’ relationships.

This group is said to feature actors like Zoë Winters, Louisa Jacobson, Fernando Belo, Dasha Nekrasova, and Marin Ireland. The production is handled by Christine Vachon and Pamela Koffler, longtime collaborators from Past Lives, under their banner Killer Films. Additionally, David Hinojosa of 2AM is also involved in the project.

In a new development, Materialists has welcomed back actress Song to the big screen following her highly praised directorial debut “Past Lives” (2023), an Academy Award-nominated film that garnered widespread praise. Song’s exceptional work in “Past Lives” earned her nominations for both Best Picture and Best Original Screenplay at the Oscars.

Drawing from actual events in Song’s life, her semi-autobiographical movie, titled Past Lives, features Greta Lee, Teo Yoo, and John Magaro. This film is distributed by A24. Furthermore, it was one of the top-rated films of the year, earning more than 42 million USD at the box office.
