The female-led thriller will now premiere in cinemas on October 2, 2026 instead of its initially reported release date in May 15, 2026.

On the revised schedule, Verity will now intersect with Alejandro G. Iňárritu’s as-yet-unnamed collaboration with Tom Cruise.

Everything we know about Verity

Verity is eagerly awaited because it brings back Colleen Hoover, whose book “It Ends With Us” was also adapted. The first trailer for Verity was premiered at CinemaCon, receiving positive feedback both from the public and the critics.

The storyline centers on Verity Crawford, a well-known author, who enlists Lowen Ashleigh as her ghostwriter under strange conditions. During the course of her work, Ashleigh encounters some potentially lethal autobiographical writings and family secrets that blur the line between fact and fiction for her.

In the movie’s ensemble, Dakota Johnson shares the stage with Anne Hathaway, who takes on the main character.

Additional performers include Josh Hartnett, Ismael Cruz Cordóva, and Brady Wagner. The screenplay was developed by Hoover and Nick Antosca. The production team consists of Antosca, Alex Hedlund, Stacey Sher, Showalter, Jordana Mollick, Hathaway, and Hoover. Johnson, Lauren Levine, and Kerry Orent have joined as executive producers to finance the project.

The project is hailed by Amazon MGM Studios and directed by Michael Showalter.
