Daisy Ridley Praises Fan Campaign for ‘The Hunt for Ben Solo’: “It’s Fantastic for Us All”

Daisy Ridley has discussed the fan-driven project, The Hunt for Ben Solo, a continuation of the Star Wars story following The Rise of Skywalker. The project was initially mentioned by Adam Driver in an interview with the Associated Press.

Fans of the project, directed by Steven Soderbergh, are showing their enthusiasm in a big way – some have even paid for planes to fly over the Disney studio with supportive messages.

While promoting her new zombie movie, We Bury the Dead, Ridley told reporters she had some prior knowledge of the planned Ben Solo film. “I’d heard whispers about it,” she explained.

I know a lot of people who work on film sets, so gossip tends to spread quickly. But I was really shocked when the story came out! It was amazing to hear it from him directly. It was funny – everyone was surprised to hear Adam talking about it, and it was the biggest surprise of the year, honestly.

Ridley also expressed her appreciation for the strong fan support for the project. She said, “It’s wonderful to see so much positivity,” noting how fans online came together to help make the film a reality. She added that this kind of support is “fantastic for everyone involved.”

It’s wonderful to see everyone come together so positively. He was clearly a beloved figure, but it’s also heartwarming to know how much people wanted this to happen. I really appreciate seeing people from all walks of life and all over the world uniting for a common cause—no pun intended!

I really appreciate how diverse and passionate the Star Wars fan base is, and it’s heartwarming to see everyone so supportive of the franchise. Especially with everything going on in the world right now, it’s just wonderful. I was pleasantly surprised by how things unfolded, and it genuinely made me happy.

When asked if the enthusiastic fan support has motivated her to advocate for a Star Wars movie centered around her character, Rey, Ridley stated she has faith in the filmmakers and believes the eventual film will be worth the anticipation.

You know, it’s funny, I’ve been reading scripts for years, and sometimes ones I dismissed five years ago are suddenly gaining traction. I’ve definitely learned how incredibly difficult it is to actually get a movie made – there are just so many obstacles. But this project feels different. I’m working with some truly talented people, and I have a strong feeling the wait will be absolutely worth it.
