As a dedicated follower and a connoisseur of Ryan Murphy’s work, I must say that his latest project “The Beauty” under his Disney deal has me genuinely excited! Having watched Evan Peters’ stellar performances in Dahmer: Monster – The Jeffrey Dahmer Story and American Horror Story, it’s a delight to see him team up with Murphy once again.
Under the terms of his agreement with Disney, Ryan Murphy is working on another impressive project. Once more, he’s teaming up with regular collaborator, Evan Peters. They last appeared together in Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story.
Additionally, Anthony Ramos, Jeremy Pope, and Ashton Kutcher are also involved in the current undertaking.
This new venture, titled “The Beauty,” has secured a series commission from FX. Alongside Matt Hodgson, Murphy is jointly crafting, penning, and serving as an executive producer for this dramatic television series.
In the comics by Jeremy Haun and Jason A. Hurley, the narrative centers around an unusual Sexually Transmitted Disease (STD). This condition has a peculiar characteristic: it makes those infected appear stunningly beautiful. However, there’s a twist – this STD ultimately proves fatal to its carriers, leading many to suspect a sinister government scheme is at play.
Although detectives Drew Foster and Kara Vaughn, who are the primary characters in the comics and share female names, have not yet found their actress counterparts, Evan Peters may be cast as the male lead according to Deadline.
These two investigators are set to unravel mysteries surrounding Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs), all while battling corrupt officials, a menacing assassin seeking a bounty, and numerous vindictive federal officers.
The outlet also reports that Ashton Kutcher might play the role of a tech billionaire.
Back in June of this year, it became known that Peters was in negotiations for a significant part in Ryan Murphy’s forthcoming production. Not long after, celebrities like Kutcher, Ramos, and Pope also signed up for the show.
Regarding the project at hand, Evan Peters, Ryan Murphy, Ramos, and Pope are serving as executive producers, joined by Alexis Martin Woodall, Nissa Diederich, Scott Robertson, Eric Kovtun, and Eric Gitter in this role.
Previously, Peters collaborated with Murphy on a highly successful Netflix production. That collaboration led to Emmy, SAG, and Golden Globe award nominations for the actor.
Afterward, Anthony Ramos made an appearance on Murphy’s FX anthology series “American Horror Story.” More recently, he has been featured in the film “Twisters,” starring alongside Daisy Edgar-Jones, Glen Powell, David Corenswet, and others.
The production of the 11-episode first season of The Beauty will begin this fall.
