I’m really excited about this new film! Dafne Keen and Aidan Gillen are joining forces for what sounds like a pretty intense and romantic crime story, and it’s all set in London. It’s got a really cool, edgy vibe just from what I’ve heard.

I’m really excited about this new role for Keen! You probably know them from big projects like Deadpool & Wolverine and His Dark Materials, but now they’re taking on a very different part in a British indie film called Driver. It’s a bold move, playing a call girl, and it’s especially cool because the film is the first feature from director Patrick Ireland, who’s already won awards for his work.

Kieran Gillen, famous for his work on shows like Game of Thrones and Peaky Blinders, will play a menacing character with a history.

A Story of Survival, Class, and Intimacy

Written by Ireland and Jessica Romagnoli, Driver tells the story of Trey, a quiet man recently released from prison who works as a nighttime driver connected to London’s criminal world. The actor who will play Trey hasn’t been chosen yet.

He develops a surprising connection with Camden, a quick-witted and troubled young sex worker. As they grow closer, both become more entangled in a dangerous criminal world, and threatened by Dickinson, a dangerous figure from the man’s past.

The story follows Trey and Camden, who are torn between their sense of duty, their own fears, and the hope of breaking free. They must grapple with the real price of freedom when the world around them seems determined to keep them trapped.

Behind the Scenes

Playhouse Pictures is currently working on a new project called Driver. They are still finalizing the cast and haven’t announced when filming will begin. Ajo Kacmar, known for their work on High Wire and Dr. Campbell, is the casting director, and Keen is also an executive producer on the film.

Keen expressed excitement about taking on a challenging role in a story that’s both truthful and deeply moving. She was drawn to the character of Patrick, who finds hope even in difficult times, and felt compelled to be involved in the project.

Adriel Thomas, founder of Playhouse Pictures, called the project “brave and focused on strong characters.” Byron Ross, a producer who previously collaborated with the director on Star Wars, said it was clear she was the perfect fit for the role, bringing the necessary depth and authenticity.
