Crypto Whales Bought These Altcoins in the First Week of January 2025

Following Donald Trump’s presidency victory on November 5, 2016, the stock market surge associated with this event has noticeably slowed down. Since the start of 2025, the overall market has entered a period of stability or consolidation.

As an analyst, I’ve observed that despite the recent market slowdown, prominent crypto investors, often referred to as ‘whales’, have been quite active. They’ve been aggressively increasing their holdings of specific assets, particularly during the first week of the new year. Among the tokens garnering significant attention from these whales are Toncoin (TON), Shiba Inu (SHIB), and Artificial Superintelligence Alliance (FET).

Toncoin (TON)

This week, it’s been observed that large investors (often referred to as “crypto whales”) have been acquiring Telegram-linked Toncoin (TON). The significant increase in the net flow of large holders supports this claim. As reported by IntoTheBlock, this surge has soared an impressive 220% over the past seven days.

As an analyst, I’d rephrase that as follows: Identifying ‘whales’ involves locating wallets holding more than 0.1% of a specific asset’s circulating supply. The netflow of these whales signifies the change in coins they buy or sell within a defined timeframe. A significant increase in their netflow indicates these large holders are accumulating more coins, which is a positive sign and often signals an upcoming price surge.

If TON whales continue to buy the altcoin, it may resume its uptrend and climb toward $6.

Shiba Inu (SHIB)

This week, the popular meme-based cryptocurrency, Shiba Inu, has been drawing interest from large investors, often referred to as “whales.

According to BeInCrypto’s analysis, it was found that whale wallets containing between 100,000 and 1,000,000 SHIB have amassed an extra 1.94 billion Shiba Inu coins since the beginning of the year, causing their total holdings to reach a new record high of 135.92 billion SHIB.

If these whales continue to buy the meme coin, its price may rally toward $0.000030.

Arbitrum (ARB)

This week, it appears that large Arbitrum investors, often referred to as “whales,” have made an appearance. According to Santiment, the number of addresses holding between one million and ten million ARB currently stands at approximately 2.31 billion. During the specified timeframe, this balance has increased by about 1%.

If accumulation persists, the Layer-2 token’s value may trend higher as January progresses.
