FBI Busts Crypto Con Artists in Sneaky Sting Operation!
The FBI, those clever detectives, set up a fake business called NexFundAI to catch these shady characters. The crooks, CLS Global, were so eager to make some quick cash that they agreed to pump up the trading volume for NexFundAI’s token. They even bragged about how they could make it look like real people were trading, all while knowing it was a big fat lie! 😂
CLS Global, based in the UAE, a place known for its sunny beaches and even sunnier schemes, thought they could get away with their scam. But the FBI, like a hawk eyeing a mouse, had them dead to rights! 🦅
“As a result of an FBI Boston investigation, CLS Global FZC LLC, a cryptocurrency financial services firm known in the industry as a “market maker,” has agreed to resolve criminal charges related to cryptocurrency wash trading,” the FBI said in a tweet.
CLS Global, those greedy ghouls, are now facing a hefty fine and a ban from the US crypto market. They’ll be licking their wounds and wishing they had stayed away from the dark side of crypto! 😈
“The Securities & Exchange Commission brought a related civil enforcement action alleging violations of the securities laws and has entered into a separate resolution with CLS Global,” the announcement added.
