The extended online presentation for Creature Commandos has been widely seen as another misstep for James Gunn and the new DC Universe.
People watching online reported the live stream only reached around 300 viewers at its peak. That’s a surprisingly low number – more typical for a small fan account than a major YouTube channel with over 5 million followers, especially considering this was an official DC event designed to build excitement for James Gunn’s new plans.
Viewership numbers for Creature Commandos confirm it didn’t perform well on HBO, making it one of DC’s least popular original streaming series. Similarly, James Gunn’s Peacemaker saw a significant drop in viewers, losing almost 40% of its audience.

DC Seems To Have Removed the Episodes
The release has been unusual, and now the episodes are no longer on DC’s official YouTube channel. It’s as if the show has been completely removed from the internet – there’s no link to find it anywhere.
Currently, the channel’s “Live” section only features the Superman Fortnite stream. The Creature Commandos marathon streams are nowhere to be found.
Honestly, I’m not sure why those videos disappeared – maybe nobody was watching them, there was a glitch, or they just didn’t want people to see how many views they had. Whatever the reason, it doesn’t look good, you know?
The episodes were originally scheduled to air on December 22nd and 23rd. We’ll check again tomorrow to see if they’re back, as it’s possible they were only available for a short period each day.

Another Sign the DCU Launch Isn’t Connecting
Originally intended to launch James Gunn’s new DC Universe with a strong start, Creature Commandos didn’t perform well on HBO. Even making the series available for free on YouTube hasn’t significantly increased its viewership, with only a few hundred people tuning in.
James Gunn has often stated his DC Universe is made ‘for the fans,’ but viewership numbers suggest those fans aren’t really tuning in.
