At San Diego Comic Con 2025, something extraordinary took place that the organizers didn’t anticipate. A panel they had previously canceled by Warner Bros. Discovery unexpectedly came to fruition. Fueled by fan passion and dedication, the completed “Coyote vs. ACME” movie was resurrected from the cancellation. Overcoming seemingly insurmountable odds, just like Wile E. Coyote himself, “Coyote vs. ACME” made its appearance at SDCC 2025 to thunderous applause and excited fans. The most significant announcement was undoubtedly the release date – “Coyote vs. ACME” will be available on August 28, 2026. Alongside the release date reveal, two exclusive sneak peeks of the film were also shown, hinting that this movie is a must-watch.
Coyote vs. ACME First-Look Clip Reveals a Despondent Wile E. Coyote Finding Hope in Unexpected Places
The initial sneak peek from the film appears to mimic the introductory scene of “Coyote vs. ACME”. In this teaser clip, we witness the story’s beginning. Wile E. Coyote is seen in his cartoon den, with “Hurt” by Johnny Cash playing softly nearby. Despite having an abundance of dynamite and other pranking tools at his disposal, a sense of emptiness fills him. However, there’s still a glimmer of hope. In this animated world, Wile E. Coyote is tuned into a live-action TV screen, demonstrating the movie’s clever blend of animation and live-action scenes.
In a television commercial, an advertisement for a dramatized law firm appears. “Have you ever experienced harm?” it inquires, referring to incidents like a piano falling on you or other unfortunate events. If so, Avery, John, and Maltese are prepared to assist you; simply call 1-800-Justice! The ad implies that if you’ve been hurt, it wasn’t your fault and someone can definitely be blamed. These words resonate deeply with Wile E. Coyote, causing him to detonate right into the law firm’s office. This sequence was undeniably amusing.
Coyote vs. ACME Second First-Look Clip Shows Off John Cena Smarmy ACME Lawyer and Incredible Cartoon and Live-Action Interweaving
The second installment of “Coyote vs. ACME” finds us in a courtroom setting, where Wile E. Coyote, represented by Will Forte’s law firm, is taking on ACME. However, ACME has the formidable lawyer John Cena on their side, who exudes confidence with his sneers and smirks. The judge, human as he is, is surrounded by cartoon elements in this unique courtroom. Instead of a traditional gavel, the judge chooses one that’s cartoonish, which emits a squeaky sound when banged. This elicited laughter from the audience. As if to emphasize the cartoony nature of this case, various cartoon characters start appearing in the scene – a knitting goose flirting with John Cena, a bird carving a depiction of the courtroom, and many more Easter eggs.
Well, let me tell you, I’m all about that action, especially when it comes to movies, and this “Coyote vs. ACME” scene is no exception. John Cena, he’s the one who steals the show here. He’s got this over-the-top, brash American charm that perfectly fits his character, as he slyly passes the blame onto Wile E. Coyote for his own missteps. And let me tell you, even from a mile away, he makes it look easy as can be when pouring water into his cup!
Now, poor Will Forte, he’s trying to keep up with John, but things go south real quick. He spills water everywhere, creates quite the mess, and almost causes an explosion in the courtroom! Whoops!
Eventually, there’s some great news about his character – a call for an exhilarating role! Indeed, Bugs Bunny will make a guest appearance in “Coyote vs. ACME“. When asked, Bugs replies with his signature line, “Eh, what’s up, doc?”, and expresses his willingness to join forces against the villainous ACME.
These two clips are honestly perfection and we can’t wait to see what else is in store.
