Country Music Star Jelly Roll Shares What Makes His And Bunnie XO’s Love ‘So Special’ Despite Rough Patches

The musical duo, Jelly Roll and Bunnie XO, might just be soulmates, yet they have navigated through their ups and downs together. This month, country music sensation Jelly Roll made an appearance on the Full Send Podcast and took a moment to reminisce about his relationship with his wife, as her birthday (January 22) was fast approaching.

In his own words, Jelly Roll (Jason Bradley DeFord) stated during the podcast, “No one else seems to recognize in us the same depth of feelings we have for each other.” He continued, “I believe it’s this unique perspective that sets our love apart.

In 2015, the couple crossed paths for the first time in Las Vegas. Their friendship quickly grew strong and, over time, evolved into a romantic relationship. They decided to get married in 2016. He shared that his wife was working as a high-end escort at that time while he was performing shows earning $500 and residing in his van without an apartment key.

At approximately that period, he was simultaneously pursuing guardianship of his then sixteen-year-old daughter Bailee, as her mother was struggling with addiction issues. Additionally, he was also preparing for the arrival of his son Noah from a previous relationship around the same time.

On the football Podcast Bussin’ With The Boys, the rapper shared an anecdote about a heart-to-heart conversation he had with his singer wife Bunnie XO (Alyssa DeFord). In this discussion, he disclosed his challenging circumstances to her. To his astonishment, she reaffirmed her backing and pledged to assist him in securing custody of their daughter.

Jason remembered her saying, “‘Regardless of our situation, I’ll assist you in getting this young girl.’ This statement continues to stir emotions within me. I replied, ‘Wow, what a remarkable person.'” He commented on the Dumb Blonde Podcast host.

Despite gaining Bailee’s custody and co-raising her, they experienced highs and lows in their relationship, such as a short split in 2018 and a reconciliation the following year. Presently, they share similar perspectives on life, are establishing new objectives, and support each other’s accomplishments wholeheartedly.

Jason, also known as Jelly Roll, shared that his ambitions include expanding his family through IVF, prioritizing his weight loss and wellness journey, and gracing the cover of Men’s Health magazine by March 2026. “That’s my fresh objective,” he disclosed during an episode on his wife’s podcast, expressing his desire for a significant transformation.
