Could a Suits Movie Happen? Rick Hoffman Reveals Thoughts on Returning as Louis Litt Amid Suits LA Cancelation

Rick Hoffman, the actor who portrayed Louis Litt on Suits, expresses his readiness to reprise his role if a Suits film is ever produced. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, he stated, “Would I welcome it? Would I be interested in more? Definitely. How could I turn down a part that significantly impacted my career?

According to reports, discussions about a Suits film from the show’s creator Aaron Korsh are ongoing, although an official confirmation is yet to be made. However, I was informed that there might be some significant developments concerning Mike Ross and his law firm in Aaron’s mind. But since it’s been a while since I received this information, it remains uncertain.

Recently, Hoffman resumed his character as Louis Litt in the Suits LA spinoff that aired on NBC. In the second-to-last episode of its debut season, he made an appearance. However, due to NBC’s decision to terminate the series, it ended up being the only season. During this storyline, Louis interacted with a new character named Stuart Lane (portrayed by Josh McDermitt) at an anger management retreat.

Hoffman stated that it took him by surprise when Aaron contacted him so early on. “Given that you’re engaged with another company altogether,” he continued, “I suspect Aaron was thinking: ‘Who among us would fit well in this fresh environment?’

The episode delivered iconic instances from Louis Litt, as depicted during the retreat, Louis Litt and Stuart engaged in heartfelt discussions about professional and personal challenges they face. Louis disclosed that he’s now operating his own firm, is married with two kids, yet continues to seek a harmonious balance between work and life. He furthermore admitted an incident where he physically confronted someone for mocking his cat.

In the show, it’s revealed that Stuart has some issues with his closest buddy, Ted Black. However, by the end of the episode, they manage to reconcile as they open up about their mutual struggles and even reminisce about old times. As for a joke made by Hoffman, he quipped that Louis asked Stuart to be his second “federal agent” friend, with Harvey being the first.

Despite Suits LA not coming back for another season, the enthusiasm among fans for additional Suits material remains strong. The original series has experienced a significant surge in popularity on Netflix lately, becoming the most-viewed acquired show ever on a streaming platform.

As a lifestyle expert, I often find myself fielding questions about the potential return of beloved series, and Suits is no exception. While the fans’ enthusiasm is palpable, I must remain grounded in reality. It has been six years since the original series ended, so any talk of a comeback might be a tad premature on my part.
