Costume Guide – New Hire Nebris

As a longtime Epic Seven player with over 3 years of experience under my belt, I can confidently say that New Hire Nebris is a game-changer! With her latest costume, she has solidified her position as one of the most formidable characters in the game.

Official Patch Notes

Exclusive Weapon

Overview

Gigantic damage when buffed up, especially with Nebris’s high offensive stats

Strong synergy with other costumes, which grant self-buffs

Good AOE and cost

Needs time to set up

Really needs investment in her other costumes

To optimally boost her abilities, the composition of your supporting team will be somewhat restricted.

Poor performance in PVP where multiple buffs are not common

Nebris for PVE

With her third outfit, Nebris has firmly established herself as the most potent physical wind attacker among her peers, and she may even claim the title of the strongest attacker across the entire game.

When New Hire Nebris operates at maximum capacity (+5), each strike inflicts damage equivalent to 30% of her attack power multiplied by the number of active buffs. Since she delivers three hits, this translates to an effective damage boost of 90% for every active buff applied.

Initially, Nebris has the ability to grant herself self-buffs through her alternative outfits. Specifically, Laid-Back Lifeguard offers a modest ATK boost for six turns or a property damage boost for two turns. On the other hand, Labyrinth Gatekeeper provides a damage amplification buff for six turns or a critical damage buff for the same duration. Consequently, by utilizing Nebris’s other costumes first, you can potentially activate up to two buffs from her own abilities, thereby also enjoying the advantages these powerful enhancements offer.

Instead of relying solely on Nebris’s personal abilities, the primary means of boosting your character will come from other team members who possess buffing capabilities. Numerous outfits offer simultaneous buff effects. Examples of costumes with multiple buffs are:

  • Arines (crit buff + ATK buff)
  • H.Lathel (2 ATK buffs on the first turn)
  • MC.Teresse (ATK buff + heal buff)
  • RH.Rou (crit buff + energy guard)
  • G.Refi (Crit dmg buff + damage reduction buff)
  • PWB.Refi (Chain buff + energy guard + property damage buff: 3 buffs!)

Note 1: Testing shows that Energy Guards count as buffs.

Remark 2: It’s quite unexpected that AOTU.Diana provides just a single bonus, despite the fact that her bonus comes with two distinct effects (property damage and critical hit boost).

Note 3: Teresse and Refi make excellent teammates for the new recruit, Nebris, as they both possess costumes that augment abilities, enabling larger stacks of these bonuses. Over the course of two turns, BA.Teresse (1) can be combined with MC.Teresse (2), followed by G.Refi (2) and PWB.Refi (3). This combination results in a total of 5 active buffs!

What height should we anticipate for Nebris, considering her maximum damage at a +5 full potential level (without accounting for chain damage)? Here’s the summary:

Buffs Damage (ex chain damage)
3 510%
4 600%
5 690%
6 780%
7 870%
8 960%
9 1050%
10 1140%
11 1230%
12 1320%

With Teresse, Refi, and Nebris each applying their unique buffs over two turns, New Hire Nebris will accumulate a total of 7 buffs. On turn one, only LL.Nebris is active; on turn two, LG.Nebris, as well as Teresse and Refi, join in; by the third turn, Teresse, Refi, and New Hire Nebris combine for a devastating nuke. This leaves room on your team for 2 additional buffing characters, pushing the total to 9-11 buffs. The damage output is astonishingly high, even surpassing QOS.Michaela’s, without any of her penalty downsides.

As a gamer, I always try to diversify my buffs instead of stacking the same type. For instance, using three Attack Buffs like Arines, H.Lathel, and MC Teresse might not be as effective as swapping one of them for a different kind of buff, such as GC.Rafina or MB.Celia. While these characters don’t directly increase the number of my buffs, they offer different types, which can lead to a more balanced and efficient gameplay experience. So, remember not to rely on inefficient supporter combos just because they bump up the buff count.

Which PVE game modes does Nebris excel in? To put it simply, she performs exceptionally well in prolonged conflicts that allow for careful setup, like fiend hunts and guild raids. However, she is not as effective in shorter skirmishes due to limited opportunities to boost herself.

Nebris can also excel in challenging fights like the Towers of Jealousy and Wrath, given ample preparation time (for instance, by having New Hire Seir safeguarding you).

Nebris for PVP

Although Nebris now has three costumes to select, he continues to be an unsuitable pick for Player vs Player (PVP). The rapid nature of PVP makes it challenging to amass buffs effectively, and the speed at which battles unfold often leaves NH.Nebris insufficient time to activate his abilities.

Regrettably, there isn’t space within the Player versus Player (PVP) gameplay for three Special Purpose (SP) abilities that don’t deliver a significant and consistent effect.

Conclusion

As a dedicated Nebris fan myself, I can confidently say that fellow enthusiasts won’t require any persuasion to cheer for the new addition, New Hire Nebris. If you’ve already delved into the world of Nebris costumes, then New Hire is an absolute necessity. You see, Nebris’s previous two costumes have been meticulously designed to pave the way for New Hire’s epic, climactic move.

If you haven’t yet invested in Nebris, you’ll miss out on a significant amount of utility she offers. She strongly recommends collecting all her costumes for optimal impact. To put it simply, Nebris is the type who wants you fully committed!
